How send .rec file?
How do I put an OOB .rec recording file in a PM to send to people?
I can't see any options like "attach file"

Re: How send .rec file?
depends on size etc, but normally i'd attach and send as a zip file and let them unpack it

I didn't know files could be attached to a PM, rather than sent to an "outside" email address.

The guy said they can be sent in PMs, he must be wrong
Re: How send .rec file?

but you can link a url address on either, unless he means that?
and share a google drive link or other online file etc that way

I've asked him and am waiting for his reply.
Meanwhile how do I view my rec file? I click on it in my Docs folder but a message comes up saying "Windows Media cannot play this file"

The game will list all replays in the Replays folder.

Re: How send .rec file?
All,
I guess I can see the point about Matrix/Slitherine not wanting to be responsible for files exchanged between members of its forums that cause harm to other members, so members must voluntarily pick them up (or it might be a money/resources thing with maintaining a file transfer mechanism on their PM service?)
PoorOldSpike,
sorry for the wild goose chase! I didn't know.
so I'll get back to you via PM.

This appears to be the case, much to my surprise. So, without recourse to e-mail, you can either post to filesharing for pickup, or post on this forum as a file (.zip or otherwise).I didn't know files could be attached to a PM, rather than sent to an "outside" email address.

Re: How send .rec file?
Thanks mate that works perfectly for me and proves the rec file isn't corrupted..
I offered to email it to the guy who wanted to see it but he said- "I prefer to remain completely anonymous, so I don't share my e-mail address with anyone whom I don't do business with or know personally."
Haha I've been sharing my email for many years with HUNDREDS of people who I pbem with and nothing bad has ever happened.
Anyway I've got several em addresses and just use one for pbemming..
Re: How send .rec file?
I've been using my email on various forums since I created my first scenario in 1998. Nothing bad so far.

Spike,
Can you post the replay on MissionforToday and PM me the link?
Or you can post here, as did Erik.

Re: How send .rec file?
Sorry mate I can't see any "attach file" option at M4T or here.
Like I've said before I'm just a grunt wargamer not a geek, and only know how to make my little men and tanks run around on the screen shooting their guns..
