1v1 Road to Dnepropetrovsk 2.0

Added aux AA units to all airfields for all nations. The Soviet AA units start at strength = 5.
Soviet reinforcements will spawn only if the Soviets own the deployment location(s). This means that on turns with multiple unit spawns at different locations, all these locations must be Soviet-held.

If anyone want to test this version, put up a challenge and I'll bite.

Hi Erik,
The Sicily 2v1 2.2 game that we are playing with jlkuro99 has developed a snag in the game play. When it was my turn as the British I could not move any units. I have attached a screen capture and you can see that the Command window is void of any features that allows me to click on what Forces I have available etc.

Thanks,
Bobthenailer1

There are no screenshots attached to your post.

There are reinforcement dialogs at the start of turn-3 and later turns (some when certain locations are captured). Any possibility the dialog is hiding behind the order screen? I think you need to click yes/no on the dialog before getting access to the order screen.

I played the first 5 turns in hot-seat, nothing odd.
Puzzling...

Hi Erik,

The reinforcement Dialogue box did come up and I clicked okay. It closed and the order screen appeared blank. I can't move any of my units and can only access the Options button on the order screen.

I did try to attach a screen shot but for some reason it doesn't seem to attach. I have tried a png file and a jpg. I have tried dragging it to the message window and have tried using the Add Files button. I will try again with this reply.

Thanks,
Bobthenailer1

There's a size limit on attaching jpg and png files, but you should get a message if you exceed this.

Have you tried killing OOB and relaunching your turn? It could be download glitch.

Hi Erik,

I have tried quitting OOB twice and logging back in. Here is the screen shot.

This is very odd. The screenshot looks 'normal', although it is a bit low-rez and hard to see any details.
I gather you can't open the objective screen by clicking on it or using the short-cut ' o '.

Another multiplayer game just passed turn-10 so I doubt there is any issue with the scenario itself.
I've also tested multiplayer hot-seat past turn-5.

My guess is that somehow the scenario got corrupted on the server and this game is screwed :(

If you want to create a new challenge, I'll join it.

Hi Erik,

I believe I'm playing the Americans in that 10 turn game you are talking about, while you are the British. Let's continue with that game and see what happens. I think your right that the other game somehow got corrupted.

Thanks,

Hidee-Ho,
I don't know if this is the right place for this but here goes --
Recently completed a match with an able opponent (Nero156) of Road to Leningrad v2.3. I played the Soviet side. It's a very hard match to get your hands around -- Germans hit you with superiority in so many areas, and the Finns have plenty to make lots of trouble. Beware the Finns!
I strongly recommend this match to a good player -- it's very hard to balance all the threats but you can make it through and win the victory. I have no idea how I'd play the German side except push hard and fast.
German players -- play fast and hard, time is against you.
Soviet players -- all threats posed by the Germans are lethal. Set up your defense and buy some time, somehow. Tie up the Finns. Set up a defense - killing the invaders isn't necessary, try to degrade them and set fire traps. You have superiority in one obvious area -- that's the key to victory.

I did not play for any secondary objectives -- seemed very much too risky. I think it was, in retrospect.

enjoy - post and let us know how it works out!

conboy

ps - PM me for some lessons learned on the Soviet side.

I’m playing the same scenario as the British player and it’s my turn. The replay from the German player (turn 3) never finishes so I can’t play my turn. I’m playing with Jklkuro99. I clicked the accept box for the reinforcements to address a question listed earlier.

We're on turn 16 in a v2.2 game. I hope it is not some scenario random issue with the other game(s). Those issues are really hard to track down.
BTW, there's an opens slot as the Germans in a v2.2 challenge created by jkuro99. I think the password is erik2

I was able to play the third turn by not accepting the reinforcements. Then I was able to accept them at the end of turn 4. I joined a game using erik2 as a password. Hope it’s the right one. 😀

Hi Erik,
A question on the Scandinavia 5.2. Should Purchase menu be blank? As the German's in the other version, I was able to spend points on new units, if I had the room and the resources... or buy back dead units.

Yes, the no-purchase is intended.
All air and land units for all nations are core units allowing you to reform dead units.
Naval units are non-core as the 2-month period covered would not be sufficient to build new ships.

BTW, I'm adding v5.3 now (minor changes)

2v1 Sicily 1943 2.3

Link updated in first post.

I have created a challenge with password erik and me playing the Axis.
The main purpose of this test is to play all 40 turns and check if the play-balance is OK.
Players are encouraged to select yes in all reinforcements dialogs (and purchase) the reinforcements.

Cleaned up specialisations
Increased resource income
Doubled Axis supply
Added a couple more Axis subs
Added a US destroyer
Added 2 US tank units

Edit: Fixed US 2nd invasion option
