Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
This is my actual modding project:
"The Korean War was started when North Korea invaded South Korea. The United Nations, with United States as the principal force, came to aid of South Korea. China, along with assistance from Soviet Union, came to aid of North Korea. The war arose from the division of Korea at the end of World War II and from the global tensions of the Cold War that developed immediately afterwards." Source Wikipedia.

First new unit, the Mig-15:
Of course a lot of a new units are required. P-51, F-86, T-34 (85), IS tank, M24, M26, ...
No expected release date: this is a personal project make on my spare time

Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
Excellent subject and the game system should handle it. Jet fighters will have some interesting stats.
Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
Very interesting
A note on aircraft textures: The alpha channel can be used to set the specular level (shininess). I guess the MiG is mostly silver but you can still use it to stop the seams in rudders etc from shining.
P-51, M24 and M26 are already in the game. T-34 series will come with the Winter War release. Not sure if it's the same models/variants used in Korea though.

AFAIK the T-34 wasn't changed much after the '44/85 variant. If that is in then it would probably be the same version used in 1950. The Soviets tended to just stick with one or two designs for simplicity in the production line. (Unlike the Germans who would make a hundred changes between one Tiger and the next!).

A large part of the equipment used by both side was directly result from ww2.
After the Mig 15, I found a nice (free) model for the F-86 Sabre:

Very nice project on an often overlooked, but certainly very interesting conflict
Re those planes, adding to Adherbal's remark about specular maps:
We found that very bright texture maps in general tend to turn out far too much like plain-white in the game. That was the case early on with the Japanese carrier-borne planes (like Zero, Val, Kate etc.) which do have a mostly white texture indeed, but looked way too bright in our 1st tests.
We ended up toning their colors down to a somewhat more greyish tone, plus included those extra specular maps for the "shine" effect. In this way they still come out bright/whitish, but not so much that it eats up all other detail of the texture map. I guess for a "silver" look a similar technique could help...

Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
Alright thanks about texture. It's usefull
So I have updated the Mig 15 texture:
So we have a camo texture and a silver one. And no more shinning effect! Next will be the F-86 texture.

Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
I set up the factions and I guess we have all we need about units.
By cons I have a very strange graphic issue with my mod...
If the player has been set to play at first, no problem(*):
But if I set the AI to play at first as following:
The graphics of UI are not set correctly ingame:
I had this issue only since the OOB version 2.4.0! But no doubt: I had to make something wrong to have this result, the vanilla scenarios works fine but I don't find where is my mistake...
Any clue to resolve this issue?
(*) except the black flag on VP... Any clue too here? Thanks in advance

Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
I don't have a quick solution, but if those problems occur could you exit the game and attach the logfile (output_log.txt from your folder..\Order of Battle - Pacific_Data) here? (might need to zip it for attachment)
Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
Interesting!
I really want Korean War Mod.
but I have some comments.
1. There are no tropical trees in Korea
2. Korean Recruits were not use Brodie helmets! they used M1 helmets.
3. There are no M4 Sherman tanks(or any tanks)in Korean Army at the time of the war´s start.
South Korean Army have M3 Halftrack and M8 Greyhound only. there are no Anti tanks weapons except 57mm AT-Gun and 2.36in Bazooka.
thanks!

Back after a big break!
So the output_log.txt had be send to The Artistocrats.
But don't worry actually I'm on preliminary work to see how I'll deal with.
I'll make some corrections about this interesting remarks
How change the infantry textures ?

Great idea but the mod is dead !?
Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
I think the devs need to make it easier for modders...
One example: If you want to mod just a few units in the units.csv, you should only need a modded units.csv with the actual unit types you are modding.
The game would first load the original units file and then load the modded one and overwrite the specific unit types in the original file.
Otherwise the modder needs to redo his/her (?) work after every update.

Every new US President needs somewhere to arrange a victorious war and to bring to the natives a true democracy with bombs and shells ) But the problem with North Korea is that it has no oil and other minerals )))
Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
So, was this ever finished?
Alternatively Korea is like a no-brainer for the next DLC.

Re: Order of Battle: Korean War announced!
Alas, this coming January 5 will mark the two-year anniversary of Amaris' last appearance in these forums.
Now you're talking. Every once in a while, one of the developers drops a hint of future plans to expand OOB to other times and locales. I would say that is in the distant future, though. Right now, their priority is to finish the Red Star trilogy.
