Launch Map Asia - should be Europe

Post by earlecook » Sun Aug 21, 2016 4:11 pm

I have upgraded to V.2.67c.

Problem: When launching Essen'43 and London Blitz 1940 - I get the Asia Map instead of the Europe Map and the game stalls. I can exit (escape button) and launch the games through scenarios.

I would like to fix the launch option, any ideas? This worked in OoB Pacific v.2.40

Thanks,
Earle

Probably because the [ALLLIANCE] section in the .cmp file format changed slightly

It used to be (for example):

[ALLIANCE]
date = 7/12/1941
player = 0
factions = japan, germany
color0 = 80, 5, 5
color1 = 60, 80, 0

Which changed to:

[ALLIANCE]
date = 7/12/1941
player = 0
alliance0 = japan, germany
alliance1 = usa, britain, netherlands, australia, newzealand
alliance2 = unclaimed

color0 = 80, 5, 5
color1 = 60, 80, 0

So you now need to list the alliances you need and the factions that belong to it. The "player" value determines which alliance is used by the player (player = 0 means it uses alliance0). Mods using the old system will need to update this section.

Some time in the future we'll get rid of the text-based cmp files and have a proper in-game campaign editor.
