For that to work, I would have to create the scenarios using the mod.
Well, that's not entirely true. The AI can use new/additional switch modes just fine, for example. Also any modified stats in the units file will be used for the AI units as well.
But the main reason for creating (and playing with) my mod were the benefits of new/additional units for my (the player's) core unit pool. And I can use those units in your campaigns without problems, Erik. :D
I understand that you can purchase new core mod core units.
I was thinking about all AI and aux units which are a large part of a campaign

Every time there is a new patch, you have to start all over again... :?

I currently prefer to create scenarios (when I am motivated), from the smallest to the largest :

1.Pointe du Hoc :

Close Combat The Longest Day adaptation.
I was afraid that because of the different scale of the game it does not give anything good but the first tests are encouraging.

2. Operation Zvesda :

Panzerkrieg scenario but Soviet side playable.
It was necessary to redo the map because of a visibility bug when changing sides :( There is only one poor unit to deploy because I wanted to test the objectives first.

3. Leningrad - Novgorod :

Germany at War - Barbarossa 1941 adaptation.
The greatest scenario I’ve ever done. Release 2020 ? :)

Two questions:

1. Which is the most recent "Forgotten Units" mod download link?

2. Where do you copy and paste the "hotfixes" to?

You have reserved the first post in this thread for the latest download link.
Why don't you put the link there :?:

The problem is that I have to restart the unit.csv file every time there is an update but I think I have found a solution but it will take me a bit of time...
It is because of this compatibility problem that I did not post a link at the beginning.

Thanks for the reply. A few follow up questions... When you say into the game folder, could you tell me what pathway you use (Documents > My Games > OOB WW2.. and then?)? And when you say save the originals, what do you mean by that? As separate files in the same folder with a different name?

I’m working on a new version Forgotten Units Mod 3.0.0 compatible with 8.3.0.

Very nice pic, I think. But please, answer rafdobrowski questions about installation of your mod. I also got a bit confused about the right procedures.
Good luck!

UI improvement (1/2) (?)

I have some difficulties to recognize the Class of some ground and air units. It is necessary to look at the section "Unit Traits" but I do not find it very clear sometimes and often I forget :(
There are planes of different classes that are very similar and switchable ground units... :x
 The idea is to add an abbreviation of 1,2 or 3 letters to easily recognize the unit class

Example with the BT-7A in Artillery Mode (Artillery = ART) :

BT-7A(1).jpg
BT-7A(1).jpg (407.02 KiB) Viewed 3937 times

BT-7A(2).jpg
BT-7A(2).jpg (674.92 KiB) Viewed 3937 times
BT-7A(3).jpg
BT-7A(3).jpg (239.05 KiB) Viewed 3929 times

PS: there is a slight image shift in the Purchase screen, in the Unit Filter and in the Unit UI :!:
I think that with a last test by slightly shifting "ART" 1 pixel to the left and down it would be perfect :?:

Another possibility would be to write in column (less well?)

Okay, but why on the neat unit cards? Just add it to the unit name. For example in brackets, if you prefer. I think that works best - and is by far the simplest solution.

With the unit cards it is not necessary to create a Mod, you can use them immediately without a Mod

Change the unit names to your liking and put the new file as "english_17.txt" in the \Content\Language folder and you don't need a mod, too. :?:
