You're a new member so naturally you haven't been following the forums since he started to post in Slitherine and in Matrix forums, and obviously you're not aware of his behavior in the past.
Anyway, it's up to you if you want to use his mods or not, but please don't mention them or the name of the "subject" here.

I wanted to clarify something - I'm working on my own version of Sandstorm. My goal is greater compliance with historical realities (the maximum I can afford, but also that the game itself would still be interesting for others, "playable"), because I think it will be good for OoB, which has an amazing potential for modification, will be more interesting in my opinion and also (hopefully) thanks to this many players will be able to spend a few pleasant hours at the computer or laptop again.
However, I don't compare myself to "professional" modders or computer graphics specialists because I don't have such skills. All I have is my historical passion, my library and (I hope  ) cleverness. I believe that despite the fact that there will be no new units or new maps here, I will be able to do something interesting, but I don't want to compare myself with anyone.
Honestly, I create this Mod primarily for myself, but I will be happy if it will please someone else and someone will spend time in a nice way. 8)

Ok, so back to the topic - below is a list of all units you will see in my Mod.

First of all, sorry Kondi for messing up your thread so much with a posting of a stupid screenshot.

And just to clarify, and I hope I don't have to say more about this:
About a year or so, as I began experimenting with 3D models myself, I've downloaded TONS and TONS of models all over the internet. Most useless, to be honest. I can't deny that some of those may have been done by M.W. (=H.B.). Still, I've downloaded ALL of them from the publishers themselves (or links they've provided) and I have all rights to use them on my personal computer. Also I have many various test models in my own mod-version, most useless, like some StarWars models - if some of you remember the old thread. It's fun to modify the models and I like to experiment around. But:

1) I don't build models from scratch, always using other people's work as template. I've never claimed other people's work as my own.
2) I wouldn't release any models in my upcoming public mod that I don't have explicit permission from the authors/publishers to do so or without giving proper credit.
3) What I'm doing with the models on my private computer is of no concern to anyone
4) This is Slitherine's forum, and they may correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I had to put some pieces together to get the whole point. In the end, no harm done. :D

Glad to hear that. :D
As for the Sandstorm Historical Mod, I ordered one more specialist book about armament, vehicles and equipment of Afrika Korps 1941-43
I also want to tell that I started to collect literature about the British Army in the Far East 1941-45
Today I bought a monograph in UK (fortunately, the exchange rate of GBP due to Brexit is quite low, so the purchase was profitable  )
As you can see, I take it very seriously 8)

Yes, I know this books 8)

I've a question: I made a new unit (based on existing one, of course) PzKw I Flamm, set the weapon effect "flamethrower_mg" in unit.csv file but it doesn't work
I understand that it must be a proper model created with a flametrower? I thought the effect is independent of the model :(

Try using "Flamethrower" instead of "flamethrower_mg". The second weapon effect requires two weapon points and the model probably doesn't have that.

Thanks Gabe, I know what I made wrong, there should be "counter" frame filled in this case
I tried both "flamethrower" and "flamethrower_mg" effects and work both
However the flame effect is funny for PzKw I

Yeah, many things will be "trial and error". Just hang in there!

But it's fun, right? You can do soooooo much. Change almost anything to your liking.

The British in Malaya and Burma.

thumbnail_file-3.jpg
Erik, I've just started to read about British and Japanese Armies in Malaya and Burma, and I have to say that a lot of work before me :)
Sandstorm required a lot of changes, but Burma Road requires a complete reconstruction if it has to be historical
At the beginning I have 2 ideas:
- much greater use of Mortar Inf, probably higher mortar attack rates and on the other hand lowering purchase costs (CPs rather than RPs  )
- increasing the importance of colonial units by significantly increasing the cost of British infantry (I think at least 100 RPs for standard British infantry :!: )
It seems to me this campaign must be based on infantry troops above all, and this applies to both sides of the conflict

I managed to get Alexandria, sink the British destroyer and clean the western bank of the Nile river from British troops, now a few turns for preparations for the capture of Cairo

To be going on with, here are some quotes by General William "Bill" Slim who assumed command of the British 14th Army in Burma and started kicking jap butt-
"For the first time a British force had met, held and decisively defeated a major Japanese attack, and followed this up by driving the enemy out of the strongest possible natural positions."

"Australian troops had, at Milne Bay, inflicted on the Japanese their first undoubted defeat on land. Some of us may forget that, of all the allies, it was the Australians who first broke the invincibility of the Japanese army."

"The Chinese soldier was tough, brave, and experienced. After all he had been fighting on his own without help for years. He was a veteran among the Allies."

It looks like Mod is well balanced
At the highest level of difficulty, with significant losses, I almost managed to get Cairo (second try, I had my ass kicked badly at the first time...  ) So the game will be difficult but not impossible to win 8)
