So, I've made few verifications:

1. I've compared the files at my disposal with the ones you've shown there:

Well, I have always a "+7 hour", each time (which may change the date), but it comes from time zones, from the time displayed on our respective computers - so that's not the problem.

Example: 8 AnzB "1ssf arriving", 77 Ko, 08.05.2020 21:31 (i.e. 5/8/2020 9:31 PM) instead of your 5/8/2020 2:31 PM... but that's fine.

The two "real" differences come from these two files:

For 9 AnzS, my preview.png is from 4/18/2020 (6:48 PM) and my scenario.scz is from 3/3/2020 (7:53 PM)...

I think we don't care here about the preview :wink: , but the scenario, on the other hand... :?

2. To look in the 9 AnzS .txt file? Ok. Yours has a lots of text? Well, not mine: :o

"// DESCRIPTION
scenario_descr = VI Corps defends the Anzio beachhead against Kesselring counterattacks.

// BRIEFINGS
briefing_2_0 = Overview:||S1:|||S2:|||S3:|||S4:
briefing_2_1 = x
briefing_2_2 = x
briefing_2_3 = x
briefing_2_4 = x"

So there are indeed some differences, for I can't really see this as lots of text. :wink:

But it's rather strange: those differences are on the 9th but it's the 8th that I can't load... :?

:arrow: So maybe just re-upload it and send the (new) link via PM!?

3. By the way, I've tried to open ALL the scenarios in my Scenario Editor (just to check!) starting with "9 AnzS": I can open ALL of them without any problem. :D But still not the "8 AnzB"... :? So once we deal with this, we shouldn't have any other problem like this later on this campaign. :wink:

I just downloaded all again from the link you've sent via PM...

Nope, the 9 AnzS .txt looks as the sample I've copied just before. :?

And it's really weird because it shows the same date (+ those famous 7 hours of course) than your txt file... :shock:

(Mine is 12.05.2020 14:20, i.e. 5/12/2020 2:20 PM, whereas yours is 5/12/2020 7:20 AM.)

Ok, I'm glad all the other scenarios load fine and the error in the 9 AnzS file is just that the wrong text (only "x") is there :oops: !

You have helped me isolate the error to some configuration mismatch in the 8 AnzB file, so thank you very much for that :!: !

I will figure that out and upload a new file for all to save over the old file. But it will take a while to replicate the error because my current file works. :( Crikey!

So, evaluators, be watching out for a new 8 AnzB file to copy over the old one.

But I will tell you this ColonelY, I am very grateful for you helping me isolate this error, and I am also relieved that all the other scenarios loaded correctly. I am in your debt, good sir!

:D

No worries. So I'll wait for the new files. 8)

By quickly opening all the scenarios in the Editor, I could see that the "Drop Tank" spec is already unlocked later in this campaign; it's perfect!

Ah, otherwise, in the final version, I think the "Colmar Pocket Scenario v1.2.1" ("standalone") can be removed from the list of scenarios for the campaign (since there is the "16 Colm")... this will lighten the memory of our computers a bit.

But first things first. :wink:

ColonelY,

Could you humor me and see if this file works?

http://www.mediafire.com/file/5dw42sltk ... B.zip/file

download it and save over the old 8 AnzB file. I tested this one and it works, but so did the old one.

If this works on yours, we're good. If not, I've got a mess on my hands...

thanks,
please let me know.

Well, for me it's just as before... :(

But let's maybe wait to see if the other beta testers manage to load it or not, for it could eventually be that it's an issue "only" with my own OoB (I doubt it, but who knows?), as I've for example from time to time made few adaptations within my units.csv file... :roll:

:!: So, Erik2, terminator, Navman2854, could you please (quickly) nuke your way up to the 8 AnzB scenario, to see whether you can actually load it or not?

:!: So, meanwhile, conboy, have you used some "unusual" unit or effect or something within this scenario?

no.
the scenarios have the same settings and alliances.
this is a bafflement because I saved over the old file with this one, and restarted the scenario twice. It worked.
So I can't replicate the error, which makes it extremely hard to troubleshoot.

All evaluators, please download
http://www.mediafire.com/file/5dw42sltk ... B.zip/file
and save over your old 8 AnzB file so you're all working with the same baseline.

conboy

ps, it's my preference you just continue playing on until you get to 8 AnzB to see if there is a problem. Nuking ahead messes up the RP count. But, do as you wish...

This is the first time the Canadians show up. Did you do anything to them in your .csv file?

Also, do you mind proceeding from 9 AnzS -- Siege of Anzio? the briefing should say, "Dig In, here they come."

Well, they could make a good save where they are right now, then quickly nuke through just to do this test... and then reload their good save to carry on their own campaign. :wink:

By the way, I assume there is no way to "nuke" a scenario without having first to load it properly!? :? It would be useful sometimes...

The Canadians? No, I don't think so, but I'll take a look. Thanks 8)

Ok. Per my previous post script,
Would you mind resuming your playthrough at 9 AnzS -- Siege of Anzio? Brief should read, basically, "Dig in. Here they come."

Well, I could but it would be much more difficult for me if I must launch every single remaining scenario in the Scenario Editor to actually make my tests...

Because I don't think it's possible (or at least I don't know how :roll: ) to "skip" (like "nuke") a scenario within a campaign without having opened this scenario, without having been able to load it completely... :?

Of course.

Please advise -- what do you want me to do to help you along? Ah, I see, if the other guys could nuke through it, you would know the problem is on your computer, not with the scenario itself. Slowly I realize...

SO __ Could another evaluator save where they are now and try to nuke through to 9 AnzB and let us know how it goes?

Yope, that's the point! And that's why I would prefer to have a rapid answer. 8)

Well, if it's a problem on my own computer, then I'll work myself a little to try solving the issue.

But no worries: one way or another, I'll continue to help you with this awesome campaign! :D
(But I might become a little less efficient :roll: - it depends, we'll see!...)

6 Volt:

My rice comments are the same, use 'correct' terrain and restrict access

There is a large part of the map west of the pri objs that is unused and could be cropped.

'Secure enroute...' first map marker should probably point to Pontelatone.

One additional game functionality that would really come in handy in these kind of scenarios is an option to open the scenario briefing during play.

'36th Div...' message title too long.

Easy to medium difficulty scenario.

So, Erik,
You were able to start 8 AnzB?

Does that inform you, ColonelY?

Yes, thanks, that does inform me, indeed.

His printscreens show it, because to see the current objectives or a "Major Victory" Pop-up, then the scenario must have been loaded properly.

Well, so, it's great for you, less for me! :wink: It's on my computer, so I'll work that out now...

Sorry, I hope I didn't waste too much of your time. 8)

Of course not -- it pointed out that the 8 AnzB scenario wasn't up to date for one thing. Strange but true.

I hope you can figure out the issue and resume your march to Austria, via the Pontine Marshes, French Riviera, Vosges Mountains, Rhineland, and Bavaria!
