Bulge 1.36 Crashes Computer

Post by billinpa47 »

I just recently purchased and downloaded BotB 1.36 and find the game crashes the computer after about 5-10 minutes of play. The crash is random, unrelated to any user activities at the time. I running Win 10 on a Toshiba P755 (circa 2013). Any thoughts on the problem or fixes.

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just zip the file then attach it to your post as it's a Txt file which is then not permitted to attach to the forum, where as a zip file is.

We had this problem during the open beta, and it was traced down to f secure software. Here is one of reports we had back then:

"Found a solution for the 0000065432... it was f secure. Disable deepguard and the game starts. "
just one of many poor antivirus programs, which needs to be altered to let another game run, like i've said before, check your AV logs before posting, as if you run a 3rd party poor AV, 9 out of 10 times, installing and running the game as admin, sorts these sort of issues out, same as running steam and the game as admin.

poor AV programs, eg game unfriendly bit defender, avast, f secure etc etc

manually adding a exception to a AV works, disabling your AV doesn't always and is never recommended!!!

Thanks for the reply zakblood. I ran the diagnostic as you suggested and the result is attached. But it is beyond my comprehension. Maybe it means something to you?

you set up has 2 GPU or video device and the game doesn't know which one to use, use the link above to set it to the correct one and then update the drivers shown

Zakblood, I changed the video setting for the game to the Nvidia device and retried the game. I was cruising along feeling optimistic when the computer crashed after 30 minutes. I then updated the Nvidia driver using Windows update (there was a newer driver available) and retried playing. This time it crashed after 10 minutes. At this point I'm ready to surrender. Thanks again for attempting to help me out.
