I am now working on the Fleet Planner.
This is a big feature used to:
- set rally points and make automatic fleet assembly and delivery there
- automatically produce and deliver fighters to the required positions
- create fleet battle deployment presets
- Battle arena from the Ship Designer
The most obvious way to do this is to allow Player to select ship designs from a list and place them accordingly.
But the problem is designs tend to change quite often, so each new design could lead to the necessity of changing fleet templates, that makes the instrument less useful.
But to the date I cannot imagine any viable way of "abstracted" fleet composition to avoid this problem.
Some helpers I am thinking about:
1. Allow defining fighters distribution in percentage. Like 25% "torpedo fighters" and 75% "usual fighters", thus solving the problem of different hangar sizes and different sizes of small crafts themselves.
2. Allow to tag ship roles in the Fleet Planner and then construct the fleet basing on these "roles" instead of specific designs. Then, in the ship designer, list this roles when creating a design for the player to bind the design with the role.
Any more ideas?

What about the ability to designate wings of small craft to specific duties, as in fighters to protect the fuel station in your screen shot, and torpedo ships to go on point with the support ships.
Is it not possible to have a new addition to ship design that allows you to select from the current fleet management designations and replace it as the new build option?

Yes, you link roles with designs and can update this later, so no need to plan a new fleet if you only change designs.
Also, it is now possible to order a build of a full fleet or a carrier together with fighters inside, set rally point for them or order a fleet to be at some star - it will be built on different planets and moved to the destination star automatically.

Very good. Just a recomendation. Do not publish screenshots at russian in a english forum where most of the people speak english. Just a trade/marketing recommendation.

If you play in Russian a lot of your staff will be in Russian even if you change the interface language, which Vladimir has done (I think).

Just was a suggestion. I am spanish and I make some mods at spanish but when I publish information about the mod, I show it at english. Why? because obviously most of the people can understand it and you can attract to more people.

Its supposed to be done, though it may be being tested for bugs. Ufnv said he was finished weeks ago and all files have been sent to Slitherine and they will make an announcement about it as its now out of his hands.toddtreadway wrote:So what happened with this?
