Turbo Movement Speed

I just wanted to write down somewhere in case it helps someone that you can make all units move faster by finding squads.csv in the data directory and opening it in an Excel like program. Doubling or tripling all the speed values in the speed column causes the units to move at that speed. At first I thought this was a gameplay related field instead of governing the animation speed.

I only realised it was the right field to change from searching and finding an off hand comment in another thread.

It is a MUCH better game for me with the unit speed sped up.

However, as Pip said in the other thread, don't alter your main Squads file if you play Multiplayer, you will break the MP games.

Thank you for the heads up. Out of curiosity what would the expected issue be from this? Does the game check for matching squads files?

I'm happy as things are in any case as all my multiplayer happens in FOG2.

I'm glad the game is so moddable.

Your opponent would get a pop up message saying that your files do not match. He would then possibly suspect you of cheating!

I think he can still continue the game by okaying the message, at least that is what happens in FOG2.
