End of Game Pronouncement!:

This "Final Verdict/Judgement of Death" ...is a 'Stab in the Heart' of a gamer who has heavily invested in time and great effort in getting to as far as he has in the Game.

Why-Not' instead... have alternative choices for the Player to choose from after he has been humiliated!... Such as... 'Re-Start Scenario', 'Select alternate campaign path option' (Another pathway to still try to get to the End-of-Game situation _ such as... transfer to the Western Front, Afrika, Italy or what-ever-where-ever-else ).

Or... Alas!... accept the 'Judgement of Death'... and 'Pack-It-In!'.

Yeah, about that... enemy units still look kinda bland. Would be nice to add some default decals to AI planes and armour. T-34 without a red star (or Guards banner) and white unit number just looks not stereotypical enough. :)

Good Stuff!!!... now I will try to add some more goodies. Such as how about visually showing the spewing of some black Diesel Fumes (Incomplete combustion exhaust/unburned Diesel fuel) from the Tanks when they roar into action.

Sound?... this has been already mentioned, but I will now mention it myself again. Many sound effects in the Game are not correct or missing... a Re-Vamping of the Sound-Package is desperately needed. Sounds need to be strikingly realistic enough to get your attention, so that it seems like a real actual sound that would "eminate"/"come from"... from a what-ever vehicle or said situation.

Have the 'Option' to have an Entre'/Entrance Musik of either or both sides... to play a brief introduction before the start of their play-turn.

Wot say You???.

Panzer Corps 2 has a lot of additions which i prefered to have seen in Panzer Corps 1. Personally, there is nothing that can beat the first installment in terms of game addiction and the 2D units. Does that mean that i dislike the new version? Not at all, but i have a hard time to get used to the 3D environment; i must be getting old lol. I would like to see some improvements of the editor, so that i can start making content. The huge database of units offers a lot of opportunities. Which i like most sofar is the bonuses/handicapts at the start of the campaign, a huge variety of units, a more clever AI.

This, I would love PC2 in PC1 graphic engine.
Please devs, make the strategical map better, so we can easily play with as a default map, only going 3D to sometimes please the eyes. At now I'm happy with undo option, as their are too many misclick due to bugs or bad conception.

Agree. In settings, allow people to choose between fewer heroes, occasional heroes, or more heroes.

As others stated, it would be nice if there were a % chance during each fire sequence that a hero would emerge within that unit instead of just plopping one down at the end of each battle.

I would furthermore adjust the % chance according to the hero frequency setting discussed above and also based on (the current number of heroes / scenarios played) so that one becomes progressively more likely for anyone who has been unlucky and hasn't yet received the expected number and progressively less likely for someone who has more then they ordinarily should.
Cool idea. I want more heroes and more chances to get interesting ones.

I like the game, but I think there are serious issues
1-No ability to play individual scenarios
2-No ability to set the starting date for random scenarios. Even worse. While all the random scenarios start in 1938, they already have all the 1939-45 Stuff.
3-it seems the game is not as mod friendly as advertised
4-Aircraft range is somewhat unrealistic. Very long range aircraft have barely double the range of an Bf-109
5-It´s not possible to create massive scenarios

For now I believe PzC1 and OOB WW2 are better games, as a whole.

PC2 is a great game. I see a lot of replayability in the game. Choosing different positive and negative traits and advance options really changes the feel. My campaign right now I have picked denied aircraft and turned of turn limits, and it's a completely different experience.

PCG is a great, complete game, but PC had a couple of rough points when it launched like any game does. This is just the starting point, I can't wait for DLCs

If you liked PC1, buy this game. It's better than the 1st in almost every way.

Nearly everything can be customized to your taste, so it's pretty easy to fine tune the experience based on what you want out of it. The graphics look great. It can be pretty hard to tell units apart, but there are some ways around it.

Alas, it suffers from an irritating lack of scenario variety. This was also the case with PC1's vanilla campaign. The scenarios ARE well designed and fun to play (and there are TONS of them), but the objectives are always the same. Capture victory hexes. The DLC's from PC1 had much more interesting objectives. Hopefully this game gets the same treatment eventually.

It seems each ground target can only be attacked one time . It makes much difficult to against a hard target

I've played a few scenarios thus far. I like the expanded campaign tree compared to the original.

I'm missing AI customization options. You can't seem to set AI prestige or experience modifiers, nor are there AI/opponent-related commander traits. There are also no AI difficulty levels. This is a big step back compared to Panzer Corps and the SSI titles.

The AI still fires artillery after attacking, an issue that has haunted the series since the beginning.

The revised upgrade system, where the player only has to pay the difference in prestige between one unit and the next, makes prestige management less important.

There are some truly game-breaking Hero/equipment combinations.

I like it thus far, but it does feel simplified/"streamlined" compared to Panzer Corps.

During the first campaign missions up to scenario 'Paris' it seems that the enemy air force hasn't got a real plan for winning the air war. The AI should give fighters utmost priority for first winning air superiority, then going after my units. But I experienced in most cases the enemy fighters ignore mine and go after my tactical and strategic bombers or land units, so that I can shoot them down one after the other and quickly win air priority.

The AI fighter priority should rather be:
1. my fighters (air superiority)
2. Escort protection for own TAC or STR Bombers
3. Strafing land units after air superiority is won

When I got the windows95 version of Panzer General 1 in 1995 I was glued to the screen for weeks. Panzer Corps was an excellent restart of the experience. I was more fan of the vanilla campaign then of the grand campaign. Why spend a lot of effort to eventually lose the war? I'm very happy that PzC2 has a longer campaign and has the possibility to beat the despicable enemy.

Because the 3D and the use of core slots PzC2 looks a bit like Order of Battle but the gameplay of PzC2 feels much better to me. OoB had me often wondering what was happening. Terrain description sometimes doesn't match the looks on the map. I've never been able to predict the movement in OoB. PzC2 never gave me the feeling that I didn't understand the gameplay. It can be tough but that's because I don't use my army efficient .. yet.

The replayability of the campaign is great because if the different routes you can choose. On the other hand, I am only part of the war effort and not in total control. I can win in Poland North and Russia South but most of the war is fought by other generals. When they screw up I like to intervene.

I'm very happy with Panzer Corps 2. It got me glued to the screen again and that's what I was hoping for.

I have many incorrect clicks due to poor graphics. I spend too much time vainly searching for air units hidden behind city names which also often hide combat predictions. Terrain often hides smaller units like artillery and AT guns. I think units should be emphasized over terrain in the game. PC1 graphics I think were more visible. 3D is like VR, nice concept but rather poorly executed. I would much prefer to play with 2D. Can anyone tell a Ju-87 from a Me-109 from all angles? I paint them with different color camos which helps some. It is a shame that I am forced to use work-arounds for a game that is supposed to be state of the art.
Give us a 2D option please.

Installed it yesterday, just in time for the lockdown here in NZ. :)

Thoughts so far-

-I'm not a fan of the 3D map & prefer the 2D layout of PzG an PzC. I find the 3D units and moving map quite distracting.
-The briefing part where objectives are given is an improvement imho.

The framework is here for a much better game though some heroes are a bit busted.

Specifically, tactical flexibility is provided to the player in an organic sense by making units slotted like in OoB. Now we have serious considerations of actually buying a 7.5 cm fK (2 CP vs. 3 or 4 for 10/15 cm) or a 3.7 cm FlaK (instead of defaulting to 8.8 cm) instead of simply trying to game the soft cap. Even the early panzers have decisions to be made since smaller ranks have rapid fire, etc.

Regarding AI levels, I think most of the difficulty is shifted onto handicapping the player via traits and optional additional difficulty levels. I’m doing a blind playthrough on next to hardest difficulty and ironman and am really appreciating the opportunity to interchange units within class at will.

Mission objectives are fine for now. I didn’t particularly enjoy the escort missions in PC1 DLCs. Scenario design can overcome boring objectives. For example Norway South freezes you a few turns until you can 1. Clear out coastal forts and 2. Clear out subs. It’s a tactical challenge that arises organically from unit placement rather than “destroy four forts” which is my eyes is not really different from claiming 4 objectives.

I'm a PG2 veteran... never made it to PzC before finding my way home with this release. I have been so impressed with this release so far. The tutorial is probably the best I have seen on any game. The ability to go through menus, select units, find information... is far more intuitive than I expected it to be. The game is... challenging upon first try. Mistakes are punished. There's a learning curve, but... failure is an option! And I like that this will have serious replay potential, even before the modders go nuts (with the branching paths, I can't wait to go back and make other choices! Working on Poland North/South of France/South Russia on my first go). There's a lot to learn, units to try out, but... I'm having a great first week.

You can hit tab to enter air mode, to make them easier to find.
You can also disable city names in the options menu, which I highly recommend because it does block combat predictions. There are also many more customization options in that menu.

After playing the modern versions, I just can't go back anymore. It's too much more advanced in terms of gameplay
Totally agree. Honestly there were times during the beta where I just wasn't enjoying PzC2 as much as PzC1. I went back trying to figure out why that was (I think it has to do with the graphics, sounds, and combat animations offering a less "satisfying" gameplay loop for me) and I quickly found I couldn't enjoy PzC1. I missed lingering suppression. I missed ranged AA fire. I missed recon support and better phased movement. I missed many new abilities. Other features I'd modded into PzC1 with a hacksaw like AT support, core slots, and auto-disembark were properly implemented.

The irony is a lot of negative reviews seem to imply - or outright state - that PzC2 put graphics ahead of gameplay. As someone who doesn't really care for PzC2's presentation, I don't think that could be further from the truth. Every mechanical and gameplay change has been an improvement imo, and down the line when the campaign and scenario content catches up with PzC1's DLCs, I can easily put PzC1 back on the shelf for good.
i installed Pz1C because of Pz2C.. I disagree. If you like fast loading MP games, Pz1C is better. And the sounds are so more war like in Pz1C.. Very boring and snowflaky in Pz2C.

I like the game, but having a lot more difficulty winning. Seems that in many of the scenarios or campaign scenarios the enemy forces are too overwhelming in power and numbers that even on low difficulty levels I haven't figured out how to beat. This was not a problem for me in PZ1 or Order of battle.

Maybe I'll eventually figure out what I am missing. Often things are looking good but the enemy just keeps arriving in numbers the game does not allow me to produce or reinforce.
