Swapped Hoplite models?
Swapped Hoplite models?
I was wondering if the Raw and Citizen Hoplites are currently using correct models:
The Raw hoplites of the left have more colorful clothing, fancier helmets and they have greaves unlike the Citizen Hoplites on the right.Re: Swapped Hoplite models?
What list is this?
BTW, raw's shield is not as colorful as the citizen's.

Re: Swapped Hoplite models?
Those are the models in any army list, no mods. The raw hoplites indeed have no shield pattern but other than that these two models would seem more fitting the other way around.
Re: Swapped Hoplite models?
Raw hoplites are younger, inexperienced hoplites.
Young ppl like being fashionable with "more colorful clothing, fancier helmets and (...) greaves", but when it comes to drachmae they have a hole in their pocket so they can't afford shield patterns.
This is archaeologically proven.

I really like this answer, veterans with basic equipment showing the youngsters how to fight. Maybe because i've just turned 50 myself!

It's not how the Greek, Roman or any civilization I know of acted though
.
What bothers me more than the historical authenticity is that the two unit models here break the conventions of FoG2 unit graphics. High quality units generally have brighter colored, more ornamental and metallic equipment while worse troops have less detail and washed out colors.
