Thanks. Isn't there also a text report on the BSOD somewhere? I forget where.

I used BlueScreenView (https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html) to open the file. Here is a pdf view of it:

You cant be sure if you can end a MP turn any longer.
I now know the reasons why I'm having problems.
For me, it's Malwarebytes antivirus.
I have excluded both FoGII .exe and main folder. Sadly the same issues continue.
Solution ATM to turn Malwarebytes off while playing the game. Not at all ideal.

Any more input gratefully appreciated.
As an experiment, can you please put the line

SLITHERINE 0

in your USER.TXT file (in My Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2) and see if the issue persists.

Cheers

https://www.malwarebytes.com/support/gu ... sions.html

add it to the exclude, either a given file if it's stopped a certain one, or the whole folder, one reason i don't use a active scanner for spyware, mines in passive mode, so only scans when i ask it to, each and every time i close the net down

not a gaming issue as such, more of a program one. eg active scanners

if 2 active scanners are scanning the same file at the same type, either you get a crash or one program errors,.

for me, it's best not to have more than one active scanner on the pc at once, or they can conflict, just using a AV scanner is enough imo as active and then do the other one passive, with all in one packages now days, i've seen some users with 3 active scanner and wonder why there games error more than anyone else, but feel safer with them all active, which in fact is opposite from the truth, there more likely to be a fault as the active scanner won't compete against each other, and one or more will error out if 2 or more active scanners are asking for the same file at the same time

Code: Select all

https://www.maketecheasier.com/multiple-antivirus-programs-on-one-pc/
old advice but still as good today as when wrote, there are others out there, just search for active and passive scanners

Given that some of these issues have been positively tracked to AV/Firewall software that seems to be the most likely culprit. None of the comms code has changed since March at the latest, and even then they were tiny changes.

That said, if you can send me an error.log immediately after the BSODs I can see if there is any more useful information.

Cheers

I have deleted you other posts. Please avoid swearing on the forums, it is unhelpful and unpleasant.

I have turned off all other antiviruses and now just have MWB running.
Still sadly had the server send problems.
I have attached error.log thought it might shed some light.

Thanks for the file, I have provided additional data to the server team. Though does that mean you were running multiple AVs at the same time? Does the issue persist if you also disable MWB?

No.
If you turn off just ‘web security’ inside MWB, the problem is solved also!

So in your case the issue is MWB 'web security' then?

Pip,

Yes, it looks that way, but I am not technically adept enough to work around it and solve it.
An MWB update must be IMHO clashing with the FOG2 latest incarnation.

I had a problem today in my FOG2DL match with rexhurley. I had to "End Turn" 4 times before it went through.
