As in Pike and Shot you can adjust the zoom limit in MAPVIEW.TXT I'm not sure if you have to adjust both ZOOMLIMIT and ZOOMINLIMIT but this works for me, I can now see the beautiful detail on the Hoplites shields. Don't forget to make a backup.
PITCH 45
PITCHLIMIT 15 // 25
ZOOM 400
ZOOMLIMIT 1200 // 200
ZOOMINLIMIT 100 // 10
ROTATE 30
FOV 30
Zoom limit

Re: Zoom limit
For the record .. anything after the // is ignored .. so we often use it to record previous or optional values.

In the /Data sub-folder of the main build. Make a backup before you alter it!vicco wrote:Hi! Where is the MAPVIEW.TXT file located?
Note that if you are using STEAM, any STEAM updates will overwrite your modded version, so you may want to make a backup of that too so you can put it back after an update.

Excuse me Sir!
But where is the data sub-folder of the main build located?
I've tried to find it in the programmes directory under the "Field of Glory2" or "Slitherine" or "Steam" or "Byzantine Games" but I wasn't able to find it ...

The Slitherine main build, if you used the default installation path, is in:Lysimachos wrote:Excuse me Sir!

Re: Zoom limit
Hi guys,
I got two questions somewhat conected to this. I use modified zoom settings.
Now I am wondering, whether it is possible to mod custom "horizons" into the game, replacing the black "horizon" outside the battlefield. Imagine a nice 360° photograph showing kind of the landscape your current battle takes place in.
Second, not directly connected, though: Is it possible to hide UI and other graphics (like ZOCs, triangles indicating close combat etc.) via hotkey or console?
Stay healthy!
Best,
Jan
