Re: Chaos Tourney V
Actually, the game tells me I won. Me 61, aetius 63. I expected a draw since we were both over 60 so not sure which is correct.

Re: Chaos Tourney V
It's a draw; if armies simultaneously exceed 59% they are both broken and streaming off the field, regardless of relative losses beyond that.
Reporting it as a win for one side, I think, is a bug in the game and should be reported in the tech forum.

Aetius39 (Spartan) defeats Karvon (Indian) 59-31
Tough game that hung in the balance, especially in the middle where a good part of my army was away and had to get back in time to help the other section. The Indians tried a wide flank around and in a forest in the upper left of the map, and the Spartans sent a section of their army to deal with it, and they did, but sent quite a bit more than they should have probably. This over-extended the line and the Indians took advantage of that, beating up the Spartan left. Luckily for the Greeks, some held and others went after a few Indians who came close, and the rest of the army came down to help out. Hard-fought game and GG as always Karvon!^^

Re: Chaos Tourney V
Karvon - Welsh defeated TheGreyMouser - Georgian 41-14 for a 4-0 win.
The prospect of facing a wall of armored superior lancers with MF in the open did not exactly fill with me glee, so I was pleased to find a strand woods narrowly lining my right flank rear and side edges. Our Welshmen immediately made a beeline for the trees and with a bit of pushing and shoving managed to squeeze into positions there. A few of our LF and one lone cavalry we hid in a small woods on our left and prayed none of the Georgians would bother to look there. Most of our LF we hid in the woods on the right flank, but a couple found themselves unenviably screening in the open. I may have had a couple of LH that died horribly while skirmishing/delaying the Georgian tidal wave, but I don't clearly remember now.
The Georgians had a large number of lancers, naturally, and a fair number of LF supported by a few massed bow and defensive spearmen. These all converged on my reversed L shaped position and aggressively began to attempt to root me out. Their skirmishers and archers moved up and began to barrage a couple of units on my left flank under the protective watch of neighboring lancers. On my right, he chased a few of my lights from out of the woods and off the field, but I had some MF who marched up and took their place. One of his braver lancers charged into one of MF holding a gap between the woods and a meadow behind them. A prolonged fight ensued.
On my left, Some of the bowmen moved up to pointblank range to fire so I unleashed warband to kill it and then watched it charge off in pursuit well clear of the woods into the open. I advanced more foot out of the woods to tackle the other bows and provide a modicum of support for my rampaging warband. I moved my LF and cavalry out of the cover on the far left and began advancing to support my left, or distract some of his troops at least. On my right, a some of my LF played a bit of cat and mouse with a lancer and defensive spearman guarding his flank. I flanked the lancer fighting in heart of my L and began grinding him down.
With more and more of his lancers tied up or distracted by the action on the left and center, I swarmed out of the woods on the far right and enveloped several of his foot and horse. The lancer in the heart of the L finally died freeing up more troops to put pressure on his left. Between these losses and the slaying of his bow, we managed to eek out a win.
The final scene

Division 2 Regular.
Stew101 ( Breton 580 - 1072 AD ) beat Mrcholo (Moravian 833 - 907 AD ). Score 56% - 20%.
In a battle dominated by two really huge rough hills, The Bretons were able to get the better of some crucial matchups.
In the early turns the Breton javelin armed lights dealt well with the Moravian bowmen.
In the middle turns the Breton cavalry overcame the Moravian lancers and their supporting foot failed some cohesion tests at crucial moments.
Enjoyable and challenging game this one, thanks very much MrC. See you in the DL.

Division 1 Regular
Aetius39 (Ghaznavid) defeats snooky51 (Skythian/Saka) 63-42
At the beginning things didn't look too good for the Ghaznavid; when the lines faced up it seemed the Skythian were winning the war on shooting/disrupting. Luckily a few units were fragged on charge, but overall it was a bit of a mess. Casualties were high on both sides, and if a few things went differently it would have been a different outcome. GG snooky and thanks for playing!^^
