Opinion of the game

This game is a blessing in disguise; putting the Warhammer 40k universe in a 4x setting. It's honestly quite brilliant. I personally enjoy the game but I would like to share my opinion about the PROS and the CONS of the game thus far. Please take into consideration that I know the development team is small and trying their best.

PROS:
1) The races heavily differ in game play from one another. The Orks and the Necron for example are VERY different. Adds possible replay-ability.
2) The early game is AMAZING. The thrill of exploring and the start of expansion is great. The options for units from early to mid is wide and you can play any faction in many ways.
3) The random map generator creates very decent maps for playing on.
4) The AI is quite good! (Unless the wildlife is turned too high). (Have experienced bugs with Necron AI not expanding while having 4 scarabs sitting in a city).
5) Heroes are powerful... but not too powerful. This is good as they shouldn't dominate the battlefield. They are treated more like powerful support characters and I like that.
6) The models are okay. I feel like some of them could be touched up but they are fine the way they are.
7) The UI is simple to look at and easy to understand. Some see the simplicity as a CON.
There are others but I cant think of them right now.
CONS:
1) There are no VO lines in game other than the occasional death noise from units. It would add a lot of impact if units made noises or spoke when selected or commanded.
2) It's too easy to expand if youre Orks, Empire, or even Necron. What I mean is the penalty of expanding is not enough to discourage people from expanding TOO much. This ties in to the next CON.
3) Late game is pretty linear and boring to play. All of the factions will just produce super units and the factions who can expand will over run the Space Marines and Necron.
4) Could use more gore and blood in better death animations but that's not too important.
5) There is no World Builder. This would add SO MUCH replay-ability to this game. I am only 4 days into it and I am already getting pretty bored of it. The World Builder would allow players and creators such as myself to create scenarios and build maps that tell a bigger story of Gladius.
6) It's too easy to accumulate resources. By mid game I can have non-stop armies no matter what faction I am to fight people. While other human players match this play style the AI cannot handle it.
7) Late game is just a big lul. Stalemates often happen on multiplayer because everyone has nonstop cashflow. Upkeep and the cost of units needs to be higher so that the game is more tactical late game (like it is early) and not just throwing units at eachother.
8) PLEASE consider World Builder, I know I already said it but you (the developers) wouldn't have to make a campaign or story mode or hell, even add other map selections if you take the time to create a good World Builder.

The game is very fun to play but the major problem is that in its current state the replay-ability is not quite there; and I know you want your hard work to be admired and played for as long as possible. Gladius feels like it's in Beta which is okay; as long as there is continuous development going on (which I know there is).
Thank you so much for giving fans a 4x Warhammer 40k game to play, Ever since Civilization 3 people have been asking for warhammer 40k mods but no one was there to answer.

I will quibble with you just a bit. The Random Maps & the ability to tweak multiple parameters per each game ensure replay ability. Now, with no Random Maps...I would agree.

Let us quibble. I agree that random maps adds to the replay ability because it is a "new" map every game. However that's all it is. A new randomly generated map. It does not add anything in terms of new and exciting. With some maps that are "locations" (especially since in the lore this was an archaeological planet) would be cool too. For example (I hate using civ as an example but it is the leading 4x game) in civ they have a random map generator... but if you wanted to play a more lore friendly map you can play on Pangaea.. or italy.. or the world map.
But yes "Technically" a random map generator means you can play forever... and it will provide a new experience. So I see your point sir.

"All of the factions will just produce super units and the factions who can expand will over run the Space Marines and Necron."
I was a beta testor and I had this complaint also. Of course this applies to all games of its type. Developers do not understand how to make special units special. Except nobody will run over the Necrons.

The super units are very expensive and they all have strong counters. Building all of any type of unit is far from optimal and against an equal opponent you'll lose.

The hardest settings have been suggested as low wildlife, low wire weed and impossible AI. I think with that you'll see a real challenge and lots of replay value. I'm about 500 hours in and still playing single player more than I should.

then you should put like heros increasing ressource needed for them to build and/or capped their numbers on the map.

I personnally enjoy the game in a whole there some unbalanced thing (but eh you fight 60billion years civilisation)
I would like to find in futher upgrade the units that you can find in Wh40k Armageddon (your Pz Corps-like game) and as well in the a lore of WH40k.
Obviously i looking foward for any Chaos/Eldar/T'au DLC (because it's gonna happend)

You should add when you choose your faction somekind of bonus (i can mistaken i'm new in the WK40k world) :

-like with SM if you have the choice between any of the loyalist chapter features

-for IG Cadian template, Death Korps of Kreig...

-Ork have 3 clans with different ability and they NOT all RED paint boyz

-Necron call the Nightbringer (i don't know much about them)

Using that those feature you could add more lore like event and as well please the players and expand your game time life.

I could too speak about made a sort of variant system where you can create when you have reserch them more or a different type of weapon on your tank and such (lore realism)

Very nice post!
5) There is no World Builder
It does not have a map editor it's true.
But moddability is great and very easily allows for new story-led campaigns.
It's very (really, very!) easy to make new quests and special triggers, special rewards etc.
