Division F
carpenkm - Norman 923-1040 AD with French 888-1049 AD allies beat Darkwater247 - Scots 851-1051 AD with Viking 900-1049 AD allies 71-33
My poor scots are taking a real beating in the league. I made some blunders with my flanks in this one, and Carpenkm, took them brillantly, sweeping through my lines, somehow I was hanging on (1% away form the 25) I nearly managed to get them to 40% but it wasn't to be! Again a great person to play and despite my blunders are really good game.

Darkwater247 - Samnite with Gallic allies defeats Angel42052 - Achaemenid Persian 40-8%
The persian cav went on a flanking run, luckly the sammies managed to get into the battlelines and finish the persians before there cav could arrive. If the cav had arrived it would have been a very different game. Thankyou Angel42052 for the game

SLancaster (Roman 197-284 AD) defeated cromlechi (Pictish 210-476 AD with Anglo-Saxon 449-599 AD allies). 62-39.
A hard fight with both armies going for it. The Romans managed to hold the centre and then push on. Good luck in your coming battles!

Division E
TomoeGozen (Byzantine with Arab allies) defeated Morat (French with Viking allies) 54 - 26.
A fairly straight forward line up of lancers vs lancers with me not having any time for my cavalry to get any shots off meant it was very much ' luck of the dice' at the beginning. Fortunately my guys held and the couple of elite Klibanophoroi started to make a difference. I was also able to sneak a couple of unit around the right flank thanks to the forest I had anchored my line on. In the end the lines slogged away at each other long enough for my flank units to do the damage.
Thanks to Morat for an entertaining game in which , really ,anything could have happened.

Thanks for a great game and what a tough opponent. Never gave up! if it wasnt for the early exchanges you probably would have won. We will meet again when I suspect your revenge will be swift and painful!!Darkwater247 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 4:08 pmDivision F

Division B
SLancaster (Roman 199-106 BC with Greek 227-146 BC allies) defeated GDod (Jewish 163-111 BC). 67-48.
A game where the Romans made a big comeback. I was 15-20 points down and slowly clawed my way back into it. GDod had a super set-up and I am sure he will bash up a few armies in this division. Best of luck.

Re: Warg1 has won Biblical Division D!
Thanks Pete...nail biting was a pretty accurate description. I had one chariot that began the turn disrupted and surrounded by the enemy which managed to only slip to Fragged but could have put me over the 60 and a draw at best. Barrold713 and I were like a pair of punch drunk boxers and I would have hit the floor a few seconds after him. Aetius39 got his revenge in our LA game. Great contests this season..thanks so much for organizing.stockwellpete wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 12:48 pmIn a nail-biting finish, Warg1 managed to narrowly overcome Barrold713 in 2 matches to beat Aetius39 to the automatic promotion place by just one point. Well played Warg1.![]()

Re: Tournament News and Diary . . .
sarmation is withdrawing from the tournament for personal reasons. I am satisfied that this is unavoidable and he will receive an invitation to play in Season 10. This will affect Late Antiquity Division D, Biblical Division C and the Themed Event. In all 3 sections sarmation has completed enough matches already for all his results to stand and there will be no need for me to arrange a replacement. Over the next few days I will seek to find out the exact state of play in each section and arrange for the adjudication of any matches that cannot be played now.
