Tough map for the Khorasanians as not much rough terrain though there were plenty of woods. After being fragmented by an elephant, one Andalusian raw spear and general were the heroes holding on the one turn necessary to allow the Andalusian lancers to avoid the other Khorasanian elephant and flank the main battle line. Schweetness101 - Carthaginian 235-146BC with Spanish allies 300-10BC defeated IMC - Samnite 355-272BC with Gallic allies 300-101BC 71 - 45

It was massed impact foot vs massed impact foot! Warband, Scutarii and Samnite Foot all charged into one another in a somewhat irregular line (from each side holding back their respective left a bit) and caused or received disruptions more or less randomly. Carthaginian Warband in the middle routed all of the Samnite Warband, but Samnite Foot on the Carthaginian left swept that whole flank of Scutarii away. It was pretty close until near the end when some Carthaginian cavalry finally made it back and got a few decent flanks in.

Schweetness101 - Andalusian 756-1049AD defeated IMC - Viking, Ireland 900-1049AD with Irish allies 900-1049AD 57 - 25

The Vikings formed an immense shield-wall line, with some cav and medium foot on their far left and in reserve, and with almost no light foot. The Andalusians were a mixed line of various qualities of lancers and spearmen with a few irregulars in the forest and a few massed archers, plus lots of light foot and light cav. The battle opened with a long period of Andalusian skirmishers dwindling away the strength of, and occasionally disrupting, the viking shieldwall, which held back and did not answer the ranged attacks with a move forward of their own for some time. Eventually, the Vikings moved forward, catching a few skirmishers, and the Andalusian line moved up to meet them. The Huscarls inflicted plenty of casualties, but many of them were ZoC locked by lancers. The shieldwall as a whole was too drained by shooting, and started to collapse and open up flanks after a few turns of melee.

rs2excelsior (Pontic) beat Tresantes (Lydian) 40-9

Not a bad showing by my opponent at all, who used rough terrain and an irregular foot ZOC to very effectively hold up my pikes from coming to grips with his hoplites. In fact, my one pike unit which had made contact was going to be subjected to a flank attack had the game gone on another turn, and I don't think there was anything I could have done about it. However, the Lydian superior lancers (which have done good work for me in the biblical section against early cav!) couldn't stand up to Pontic cataphracts and Iranian armored cav and were routed, along with just enough of the Lydian irregular infantry to push the army over the 40% mark.

cromlechi - Scots-Irish 50-476AD 31% drew with Questar17 - Gepid 493-567AD with Germanic/Gothic Foot Tribes allies 260-599AD 17 %

Sadly the first time I have encountered poor sportsmanship and rudeness in this tournament. My opponent seems to think that 'I deserve nothing' because I didn't leave the woods to be slaughtered by his heavy foot. I could ask him why he didn't enter said woods to be slaughtered by my medium foot. I did apologise for the map which I did think ruined the game but I would have done nothing but commit suicide by leaving them as the rest of the map was completely open. I hope I do not encounter such rudeness again as it's the first time in the many years of playing in this tournament FoG 1 and 2 that I've experienced this.

Dear Cromlechi,

My intention wasn't to offend you. I'm sorry if my words seemed rude for you.
The reason of my phrase "you deserve absolutely nothing" is related to your tactics to cover almost all your troops at the edge of the battlefield. And here under i'd like to reason my phrase.
After breaking almost all his skirsmishers and chariots, i moved all my troops to the wood with his medioum infantry and rest of chariots at the edge of battlefield as cromlechi wanted according to his message in the chat. Once my troops were close to his in the wood, i started to fire his troops by my skirmishers with ease but cromlechi did absolutely nothing. Realizing that by this mode i will not score 40% for a victory, i started to attack by my heavy infantry his medium infantry in the wood, causing my heavy becoming severally disordered vs his moderately disordered troops. Finally it was remaining 3-4 turns before nightfall, our score was about 25:10 in my favour but cromlechi still weren't attacking me/ doing nothing what means he wouldn't score any point. It was my 1st time in FoG 2 when the opponent was using so defensive but useless tactics and that was surprised me as i always play for a win.
Again my phrase "you deserve absolutely nothing" isn't an offence but my opinion. Above mentioned confirms that.

By the intention or not but you posted incorrect result of the battle. Below i'm posting a correct result of the battle with a picture. It's the 1st time of FoG2 participation when the opponent posts wrong score.
