I am in. I will see if I can put together my army list this weekend.

Re: Biblical recruitment has reserve places only now
Unread post by Jagger2002 ยป 22 Jan 2019 00:22

Here are my choices for armies:

1. Assyrian 681-609
2. Phoenician 681-539
3. Median 626-550
4. Egyptian 664-571

This should be fun!

We now have enough players for two full divisions in the Biblical section. I am not sure whether we will recruit enough players for a third division so any player putting their name down for this section now will be considered a reserve unless/until we can reach 26 players. If we do succeed in attracting another 6 players then I will open up a third division and recruitment will stay open until we get another 4, even if it means starting the season with less than 10 players in all the divisions. In these circumstances I would probably start the B and C divisions with 8 players each while the A division will definitely have 10 players. There are always players who wish to join after the season starts so filling the remaining places should be straightforward.

We now have 30 players in this section which means there will definitely be three divisions. Any player signing up now will be considered a reserve until we reach 36 players. If that happens then a fourth division will definitely run even if recruitment has to stay open after the tournament has started.

Recruitment seems to be almost complete now as new sign-ups are down to a trickle. I have one player who has entered five sections in error and I am waiting too find out which section he is going to drop. So that will be one vacancy to fill and there are still two vacancies in Early Middle Ages. Once those are filled we will only have reserve list places available right across the tournament. In the unlikely event that we get six reserves for a particular section before next weekend then I would open another division.

We have 53 players signed up so far and I received a PM from another new player yesterday and I hope he will join the tournament. It still means that we have 4 or 5 fewer players than last time. Quite a few of our regulars have decided not to enter this season while others seem to be entering fewer sections than usual. This almost certainly means that Classical Antiquity and Early Middle Ages will have one less division this time. The other three sections have maintained their numbers.
