Division D
General Shapur - Carthaginians (Hannibal in Africa) 202 BC beat Geffalrus - Antigonids 320-301 BC: 63-39
An excellent hard fought battle where the terrain hated both sides.

Look back over the past, with its changing empires that rose and fell, and you can foresee the future, too. M.A.

I learned a very important lesson that battle: it's real hard to defend a river crossing if the enemy has more medium infantry than you do! XDGeneral Shapur wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 3:33 pmDivision D

Group 3
Soissons
stockwellpete (Franks) beat hidde (Syagrius) 60-41
The Franks started off disastrously and nearly lost Clovis as he desperately tried to rally a routed warband unit. Gradually the Franks recovered and the warbands began to take their toll of the lighter Gallo-Roman adversaries. And by the end of the battle Clovis had turned up again. Well played Anders!

Division B
Hendricus (Romans) beat paulmcneil (Armenian,Tigranes) 66-38
First there was a fight between the Hastati and Cataphracts and after that the Romans had to storm a small hill with difficult slopes. Such a small hill can hold a lot of troops.

SLancaster (Seleucid 124-63 BC) drew with Rob123 (Roman 285-312 AD) 26-43.
Hard fight in the end and we both got the two points when I just managed to get to 26.

Division C
MorkintheFree (Romano-British) and Geffalrus (Bretons) fight to a bloody, wasteful draw of 57%-42% as night falls.
The infantry-focused Romano-British army shattered the outnumbered Breton foot early on in the battle. Left with nothing but light infantry and a sizable cavalry contingent, the Breton commander resorted to dishonorable guerrilla warfare tactics of picking off lone units and avoiding the slower Romano-British army.
