Re: Late Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .
Weekly round-up
Division A has come to life this week and harveylh (Jewish Revolt) is the early front runner with 3 wins from 4 matches. He is being chased by Breogan (Sertorius) and MikeC_81 (Arab City) who both have 2 wins from 3 matches and pantherboy (Bretons) has also started with a win. youngr (Jewish Revolt) has set a formidable target in Division B with 7 wins from 8 matches. He still has a match to complete against Trogilus (Romans) when he returns to the competition in mid-March. Can anyone else in the division put together a winning run to deprive him of promotion to Division A? It is very slow in Division C but there were wins for the top two, greekiraklis (Byzantines) and jjaquemond (Kingdom of Soissons). On the other hand, the players in Division D have near completed half their matches! sunnyboy (Germanic Horse Tribes) extended his winning run to 7 matches with a narrow win against his closest challenger, MorkinTheFree (Ptolemaics). It is hard to see anyone being able to catch him now.
Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
Rob123 (Division C) 3 matches
sunnyboy (Division D) 7 matches
Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 11 out of 45 matches completed
Division B - 13 out of 45 matches completed
Division C - 7 out of 45 matches completed
Division D - 20 out of 45 matches completed
These are very good match completion rates. Division C is slow.
Player of the week
sunnyboy (Division D), again, who won 3 matches this week to extend his winning run to 7.

harveylh (Medians) is the early front runner in Division A with 4 wins from 6 starts. His closest challenger is markwatson360 (Lydians) who has 2 wins from 4 matches. ianiow (Egyptians), Nijis (Achaemenid Persians) and stockwellpete (Carthaginians) have all started off with a win. In Division B, Cunningcairn (Lydians) has already completed his fixtures and has set a modest target of 24 points. XLegione (Phoenicians) is well-placed to overhaul that total having started off with 5 straight wins. Another 2 wins for greekiraklis (Egyptians) has seen him take a commanding lead in Division C with 6 consecutive wins. lydianed (Assyrian) and MikeMUC (Achaemenid Persians) have both won their opening matches and may be the only players now able to challenge for the automatic promotion place.

Re: Themed Event: winners post your results here . . .
Group 3
Tolbiac
hidde (Germans) beat jjaquemond (Franks) 71-42
Most remarkable event in the battle was a prolonged fight in the woods. 4-5 units on each side, mix of warbands, cav and skirmishers. A couple of units on both side fragmented early on.
Went on for EVER...

Re: Urgent: calling Yaitz331 . . .
Still no reply. blobka, who was first reserve, has indicated that he would like to take up a place in Classical Antiquity Division D, so unless I hear from Yaitz331 by 9pm (UK time) this evening he will be replaced by blobka. I was going to wait until the first Time Control on this coming Friday, but I have an overall picture now of 3 opponents being ignored by Yaitz331 and I have confirmation of that with my own PM also being ignored. This is not remotely acceptable in the FOG2DL.
Yaitz331 has also entered Biblical Division C and I have sent a PM to the first reserve, who is Okie. He is not always the easiest person to contact and there are no other reserves at the moment. If there is anyone currently playing at that level now who would be interested in filling the vacancy then please post your name in the reserve list thread. I will remove Yaitz331 from the Biblical section this evening if there is no contact, and then I will give Okie three days (until the end of Wednesday) before I offer the place to anyone else.

XLegione - Romano-British 407-599 AD defeated rexhurley - Arab City 300-633 AD 42% - 7%
My opponent was very unlucky, this is, in summary, what happened!

Division C
lydianed (Assyrian) defeats General Shapur (Spartans) 41-13.
The terrain could not have been less favourable for the Spartans, forced to attack up hill, across a stream into rough ground. Toe-to-toe the Spartans would have given the Assyrians a lot of trouble. Thanks for the game.

lol - An absolute misery of a map. However, it seems i have been thrown a few lessons during the series.
1. Spartans do not behave like the blokes in 'the 300'.
2. See 1.
