Doyley50 (Spanish) defeats Sunnyboy (Germanic Horse Tribes) 51-25
You were unlucky, the terrain certainly did not favour cavalry.

harveylh - Sassanid Persian 591-628 AD defeats paulmcneil - Armenian 477-627 AD, 42-14
The Persians being able to redeploy just a little faster than the Armenians and some early bad combats made the difference.

Geffalrus (Antigonids) BARELY defeats phoyle3290 (Macedonians 320BC) 62-45 in an absolutely brutal slugfest of a battle. The heirs of Alexander wept that day.
Much as I want to write out the full play by play with all pictures included, instead I'll just highlight the fact that the match almost ended well over a week ago when I was able to crush phoyle's regular pikes with my full force of 7 pikes while sending a couple Thureophoroi to distract (aka be eaten alive by) his veteran pikes and thorakitai somewhere else. This netted me a 40-15 margin at the end of my turn. Then at the start of his turn, phoyle pulled a routing pike rally out of his hat, and suddenly I had to deal with the angry veteran pikes and thorakitai hard marching to avenge their friends. The result was a swirling melee that pulled in every single unit on the board as we tried desperately to outflank each other's pikes. Units lost cohesion, rallied, broke, returned, broke again. Veterans ran like school girls. Warbands fought like warrior poets. Daredevil horse archers rear charged lancers to protect the precious pike flanks. Generals fell like flies. Heroes were born. In the end, I had to bring phoyle to the brink of defeat THREE times before his army finally surrendered.
The hill where chaos reigned........

ruskicanuk - Indo-Greeks 175-10 BC defeats hidde - Macedonians 320-261 BC (60-36)
hidde made one of the best cav manuevers I've seen on his left, nearly rolled up the whole greek core, a resilient elephant seemed to save the line though in the end the commanding general fell ! Epic!
ruskicanuk - Indo-Greeks 175-10 BC defeats nyczar - Greeks 227-146 BC (48-23)
Thanks for the game nyczar, lots of fun back and forth

ruskicanuk - Arab (City) 300-633 AD defeats Cunningcairn - Lombard 568-569 AD (50-11)
This would be a very difficult Lombard win given the terrain, well fought Cunningcairn
ruskicanuk - Arab (City) 300-633 AD defeats GDod - Hepthalite 350-570 AD (50-5)
The "white walkers" as GDod put it presented too many targets for the archer army

ruskicanuk - Ptolemaic 55-30 BC defeats Cunningcairn - Dacian 89-106 AD (47-20)
GG, enjoyed the attempted hidden cav charge, was definitely unexpected!
ruskicanuk - Ptolemaic 55-30 BC defeats nyczar - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD (46-7)
Terrain really hurt nyczar's position - those damn streams!
