Later Low Countries query

Post by Three »

Would the Ordonnance Men at Arms from 1478 be treated the same as Mercenary MAA and fielded as either Superior/Undrilled or Average/Drilled as per the V2 changes?

I can see it both ways - they are in the same box as the mercenary MAAs and are essentially the same, but they are also not described as Mercenary because they are now Ordonnance, from 1478.

Or am I looking too deeply into it

I believe this query came up at Britcon earlier this year. I think it was ruled that they must be Ordonnance and Average as opposed to Mercenary and Average / Superior.

I think Ordonnance were regarded as inferior. Best to check with the list checker in question though.

Thanks,

I rather thought that might be the interpretation, seems a bit harsh on them on reflection, but understandable.
