Cold Wars 2012: March 9-10 in Lancaster PA

Post by babyshark »

I will run a tournament on both Friday and Saturday.

Friday: Field of Glory 900 point Open

Each player will bring a legal army at a maximum of 900 points (800 points for 25mm). As per usual, 25mm will be run as well, assuming that enough players show up. 25mm will use a 40mm MU. 25mm players are encouraged to bring a 15mm army just in case.

All players are ask to arrive early to facilitate organizing the event.

Round 1: 9:00 – 1:00
Round 2: 2:30 – 6:30
Round 3: 7:00 – 11:00

GM is Marc Crotteau, juvenileshark@yahoo.com

Saturday: Field of Glory Doubles Tournament

Each team of two players brings two legal armies (one per player) at a maximum of 650 points per army. The two armies must each either be drawn from the same list, or one must be a permitted ally of the other. In any case, they must be from the same year. Prior to the tournament the team must select one player’s list as the CinC for purposes of pre-battle initiative and terrain choices. Each player on a team will deploy their army quartiles at the same time. In order to clear up a bit of confusion from last year I will note that each player's army may have from 1-4 generals. The game will be played on an 8x4 board.

The event will be played in 15mm for sure, and also in 25mm is enough players show up. 25mm will be run the same as 15mm, with the following changes: the board will be 8x5, 1 MU will = 40mm, each player will bring a 600 point army. 25mm players are recommended to bring a 15mm army for back up.

All players are asked to arrive early to facilitate organizing the event.

Round 1: 9:00 – 1:00
Round 2: 2:30 – 6:30
Round 3: 7:00 – 11:00

Two camps. One for each army.

I need a Doubles partner

Anyone out there looking for a partner for the Doubles on Saturday? My (semi) regular can't make it.

Talk to me,

Oh the irony. Hope your journey home was safer & less eventful than the trek down.

Hey Marc!

Thanx for taking the time to run the FOG tourneys!

Had a blast! Although the ancients turnout was surprising!

Turn out, especially on Saturday for the Doubles, was surprisingly lower than normal. On Friday overall turnout for FoG (AM + R) was solid, and I would normally have expected similar numbers for Saturday. We will see what happens at Historicon, although with the somewhat strange location change I have no idea what the numbers will be like.

What about splitting up the ancients and Ren? One on Friday and one on Saturday...noticed there were people jumping back and forth. Would be nice to be ale to play both...especially since I am now getting into ren! Damn you guys for showing me all those cool figures!
