Digital Warhammer is good, I am a big fan of 2nd edition WFRP myself. But the model maker in me has no love of their models, often over priced and over worked molds that are flogged to death.
But I don't expect their models will be dealt with through Slitherine
It IS a good marketing option though, as they will get some good shelf exposure possibly.

I certainly can't wait until Slitherine release more information about the things to come. What campaigns settings, rules, 2D or 3D graphics and if it use an exiting game engine. I guess, well I hope they use a modified Panzer Corps engine. Maybe that way I get a mental successor for Fantasy General.

Nothing against tablets... vital demographic and all that... I just hope that this doesn't limit the scope or complexity of the PC version. Mod and community support could very well make or break this gameIainMcNeil wrote:We're looking at a simultaneous release on iPad and PC

I am pretty sure it isn´t Space Hulk.
That game was already announced last year.

So many fond memories of my early teen years playing 40k at the weekends, I still occasionally dig it out for some painting. More recently I've spent the last few years playing DoW and the expansions. Played some DoW2 but I missed the classic RTS base building. I also enjoyed playing Spacemarine.
With the bankruptcy of THQ will this be a sort of continuation of the Dark Millennium project? I know Havok cancelled the MMO part but I don't know any more than that.
I'd love to see a game which closely recreates the actual tabletop (or floor) game, where you could recreate your actual army in glorious digital format. Something similar to Liberation or Rites of War to play but more up to date in complexity and graphics.

Sorry, insomnia is getting the better of me. I should have said Vigil, not Havok.

Great news indeed. Very pleased to hear that you were able to get a deal together with GW, and I look forward to what you're cooking up. Although in truth, you basically already have my money for this, just let me know when I can give it to you.
Re: Slitherine links with Games Workshop on new licensing ag
Hoping for a Panzer Corps with more complex mechanics (like in Battle Isle or Advanced Strategic Command) and the wonderful WH40K universe.
Re: Slitherine links with Games Workshop on new licensing ag
The Battle Academy engine could also fit it very well, with nice animation combat would look amazing. And they already have superb modding capabilities and cross platform multiplayer.
Re: Slitherine links with Games Workshop on new licensing ag
I will be happy to hear a bit more about the game that will come, if it will be a game like Final Liberation or Rites of War, or something really new, closer to the tabletop game.

I agree with rf900, a Battle Academy conversion would probably be the best way to go.

Even bearing in mind this is a forum for tabletop and computer wargamers, I think I am justified in suggesting that perhaps you should "try and get out a bit more"...random27 wrote:battle academy in 40 k world wow what a living dream
