Panzer Corps Tournament - The second round!

Post by AlbertoC »

Hi guys.

You all qualified to round II of the Panzer Corps Slitherine Tournament! I hope you all enjoyed round 1 and are ready to go for the second round :)

The second scenario will be the THE DNIEPR from the Wehrmacht campaign!

The settings when issuing a challenge are exactly like round 1 and must be as follow:
Weather ON – Supply ON – Fog of War ON – Undo OFF; HANDICAP must be EVEN

The pairings are as follow; it’ll be up to the first (to the left) of each couple to issue the challenge, and to the player to the right to accept it:

Esgibtkeinbier vs Igscarlet
Striped_soul vs Rogo727
Hansstory vs PeteHat
Dardalon vs misterno
Caca vs dbackfed29
MarkTK37thIL vs woken
DavidRibes vs goose_2
Braccada vs ML_Berlin

How to issue a challenge? Use your username as game name, pick the Dniepr map with the aforementioned settings and put “Slitherine” as password.

For instance, EsgibtkeinBier should issue a challenge named “EsgibtkeinBier” and with “Slitherine” as password, and his opponent Jamper89 will have to accept that challenge.

It’s up to the one issuing a challenge to pick the in game side: the map should be balanced enough to make the difference negligible.

Please try to complete your games before next Monday 31st October!
Send me a report of how the game ended (better if coupled with screenshots). I hope there will be no contestations, but if there’s any we’ll discuss it. In case the match wasn’t completed in time, we’ll pick a winner depending on who was most active. If no player was clearly more active than the other, we’ll judge basing on strategic performances. Once again, send screenshots of your games 

Please issue your challenge and accept it as fast as possible.

I was quite satisfied with the outcome of round 1. The vast majority of games was completed regularly, and for the few other matches there was clearly a player more committed than the other so picking a winner was easy. I expect this round to go more smoothly than round 1, though. But remember, I’m here to accommodate all requests. If you need your opponent’s e-mail account to get in touch with him, please send me an e-mail. If you have any question or need something, anything, please send me an e-mail.

I hope you’ll have fun!

Rogo727, this time only accept your opponent's challenge: striped_soul's challenge. :D

Guten Tag commanders!

As the Panzers were rolling this crossed my mind... What if, in the future, a scenario is chosen from an expansion a (both) player(s) is (are) missing?!
Have fun everyone!

Meanwhile, in Hauptmamm Günther's Panther the crew sings as their Panzer chases the dawn:

Ein Schütze steht am Dnieperstrand,
Und leise summt er mit.
Wir pfeifen auf Unten und Oben,
Und uns kann die ganze Welt
Verfluchen oder auch loben,
Grad wie es ihnen gefällt.

So far I made sure to pick only campaigns from the Wehrmacht campaign and since it was the original release of Panzer Corps basically everyone owns that.

There were no issues in round 1 so it should be the same in round 2 too :D

Caca and I are on Round 4. I think we will get more rouds in once the weekend comes, but we should get two rounds in today at least. It's definitely hard when your opponent is in Russia!

I am running into the same problem with my opponent, he is on round 2 and plays when I am at work.

I am hoping we can bust through it this weekend, together because at that point sleep is optional. ;)

Woken and I are moving along at a pretty good rate of 2-3 turns per day now, and will easily be done by Monday.

Turn 10 at the moment, so Monday will be no problem. I like this and the last map by the way. Since I am almost new to multiplayer this is a great way to discover those maps. I can't wait to switch to the other side and try that. Playing only the campaigns I totally overlooked those treasures. I can only recommend to give it a try. I was hesitant at first, too, but as far as I can tell, the community might not be big, but open to newcomers and very friendly. Ok enough advertisement ;)

Hey guys, is there a way for me to play or see these maps without playing someone in a multiplayer game? Need a scouting report!

1.- Go to this folder:
C:\...\Panzer Corps\Data\

2.- Locate the files:
TheDnieper.pzscn
TheDnieper.pzloc

3.- Copy these two files to this path:
C:\Users\YouUserName\Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\Scenario\

4.- Open Panzer Corps and select single player, then select 'scenario', and then select 'custom'. 'TheDnieper' should be now listed and ready to be played.

You can copy as many scenarios as desired to 'Scenario' folder to make them 'custom' and available to be played in single player.

On 24 october started round 2. And round 2 pairs are MarkTK37thIL vs woken. Not sure what will do Slitherine, but if there is a common set of rules and dates for all players, these should be respected. Who plays on time and wins, wins. But what to do with those who plays out of time limits even winning? Not sure. But as said pairs for round 2 are MarkTK37thIL vs woken.

Imagine ALL the contenders doing the same and playing out of time limits...
