Beta?

Is there a way to improve my chances of being selected for a beta? I signed up along time ago for Starship Troopers and Distant Worlds 2 and I'm loosing my mind waiting for either to drop. Would it help if lets say I posted pleading for a beta key on my birthday? Cough-cough....today
