Something Odd with the Tribal Scouts...

Post by Mazeppa »

I was playing the Athenians the other day on impossible difficulty, and I was facing against a simple barbarian horde consisting of just 48 tribal scouts (I think). I had a whole 16-squad army of Elite hoplites, ready for battle, making sure the battle would've took place in open ground, well suited for their style.

In the end, it turns out that the 48 tribal scouts destroyed all of my Elite Hoplite army, killing more than 400 soldiers.
How did that happen? :o

Hello Mazeppa,

I must say that is very very odd. I don't suppose you still have an autosave prior to the battle? I've played the game numerous times, but I've never seen this. Heavy infantry should beat light cavalry in almost every instance, unit for unit, as both suffer in rough terrain. Then the fact there were 16 squads vs 1 makes it just an anomaly, as even if one squad was lost there should be others ready. I'd like to see the battle to confirm what happened.
