after installing your roman mod,can i still playing Cow at advanced grand campaign?????becoz my brother do not want to play this mod,but my favourite is Roman legionaire..so??? :shock:

As I recall the mod overwrites the game itself, the Adv. and Grand Campaign.

The best thing to do is make a copy of the entire game (game folder) as you have installed it on your harddrive and call it "CoW - Roman Mod" or whatever you like. Then create a shortcut for the game-file (cow.exe). This way you can start the modded game with its own shortcut - or the original game with the original shortcut.

1 more question,are those legions very good at avoiding missile attack as the historical ones?i just hope it will be better than the LEGIONS one,coz they are still too weak in front of those archers...,of coz they will force to lower their shields when confront with melee infantry

If you mean the Testudo/Turtle formation, then this was only ever used in siege warfare - not in battles so we have not modelled it.

after testing your roman mod of chariot of war,i made some modifications that refers LEGION about recruit cost and maintenance cost base on their power and unit strength so there can be a balance.I made the egyptian cost so cheap becoz of their population and production(same as teheru spearman of chariot of war hehehe!!!) :D

and i just want to say that aren't let the persian own the chariot more logical than letting celts got the chariots?

and there is too bad that greek do not have greek swordsman(like the roman auxilia,don't do peltast plz!),coz i love the costume of greek swordsmen,get excited by greek war movie watch at my childhood...... :cry:

i will post my that squad file data into here after i finish it ...(still need to test about archers,cavalry units and chariots) :twisted:

I just hoping someone can modify one of the chariot unit to greek swordsmen,sacrifice 1 chariot,still remain 1 chariot unit,i love trojan swordsmen.Perhaps we can copy those trojan swordsmen image from SPARTAN/GATE OF TROY to modify them to this COW roman mod(if our slitherine's developers don't mind...hehe!!).Then it will be perfect,we can watching the Mighty Legionaires being overwhelm by trojan swordsmen rush.........hope this dream comes true(or i should keep dreaming??)

oh! i forget 1 thing.How do i going to change the battle speed of COW units in this roman mod,coz the COW units got the double battle speed than the LEGION units's battle speed,that looked odd!!And the same time,i love madaya spearman and gibborim auxilia in COW.Since the MADAYA SPEARMEN being tranform into judean spearmen,but this judean spearmen battlespeed was too fast.hope someone can help me......... :(

COW mods

:shock: Hallo. I need general advice from anyone here. I have had a look at the COW-Legion mod downloaded files, so is it a case of dragging over the files from the mod, over to the data files on COW, to replace them? I've just re-ordered COW after not playing for a few years. I havn't yet installed it. I've made note of the info. on the forum about mods to change the victory conditions and the power of skirmishers. I am wondering if anyone knows if I can reduce the number of cities on COW?
So the info. for the various units in Legion are stored on the COW-Legion mod data files?
I can't get the d3drm.dll file to work with Spartan on Vista, I've copied it onto the system32 directory as instructed, but it wont work, so it might not work on COW when I get it, and I might have to buy a computer with XP on it.. the COW that I'm getting is the official copy, I'm using a 'sold out' copy of Spartan, will that make a difference?
will appreciate any help,

It sounds like you have teh Vista problem sorted from another thread so that's good. As far as the mods go it's just a matter of copying them to the right place and the easiest way is to unzip and maintain the dir structure or you'll have to manually copy the files to the correct dir's which is difficult.
