Ahh, Wonderful and detailed AAR, I am very pleased to see the time and effort put forward here and I have read every line with interest. I will say that my opponent turned out to be a much tougher player at defense than I would have first thought. Up with the best at defending France, when I got into France after taking Belgium I saw a perfectly planned defense of the countryside just about and expected to a lose a Panzer but the payback was 2 mechs, inevitably you will lose to the French something, unless you play safe. I gambled, I sometimes like to.

As far as the justification for Holland, it's a better strategic position if a Dyle is performed and not knowing this opponent I wanted one up on him in case that was a possible outcome. Secondly, had Poland been a slight bit more easy, my Tanks/Mechs would have finished in a good point to be operated to attack Belgium in a Blitz if I wanted. It left the strategic door open. Lastly, my opponent got a little luck with the dice in keeping the Dutch alive(he mentioned). Whether my strategic thinking is warped or incorrect is hard to say, it was expensive but I like how it does keep my opponent on his toes as to what else is possible, and much is. Belgium did not spawn full strength and the Strato keep the Dutch PPs out of the game(until later)...

Norway and Denmark, was a bad idea. The weather inevitably turns in the early months and it would have been a cakewalk with 1 tac to aid in the take down. I gambled again, with the weather but again as I said I like to take chances. Seeing my opponent as a bit better than I am I know that to win straight up is not likely.

P.S. I have just captured Paris and I do not call my losses the worst I have faced. Manpower was the worst hit, my Air did not do so bad. Though the RAF did not pitch in it's full might to help(protecting for a possible Sea Lion I suspect) The worst part of things is late Summer take down of Paris. The option to reject Vichy was on the table and it may be a strategic blunder I did not take it but I will let that go. (Under 35 Air Step losses and under 35 Mech/Tank losses for me in taking France is acceptable)

Interesing. Invasion of the NA in 1941 is not a common sight, but of course, most players don't abandon Libya in 1940-1941. The problem is that the Germans will get free PPs from southern France. On the other hand, everything that distracts the Axis from the Eastern Front in 1941-1942 is a boost. You could try to invade Norway, too, or feint an invasion there, especially since the Kriegsmarine is stationed in the Gulf of Finland.
