To all my fellow American players, I wish you a safe and happy Veteran's Day!

I think the best way to describe our operations to date is that they have violated every recognized principle of war.

Yes, it is the same. Remembrance Day and Veterans Day all originate from Armistace Day. In the US, they moved it some years ago to all on the seond Monday in November.

Mine weren't as lucky. No one came back in my family... One killed during the fighting for Metz and the other Iwo Jima. One more at Okinawa

One Grandpa was with the Big Red One in Tunisia and Sicily, wounded, plussed up 5ID in Normandy, and was finally wounded home after a serious MG 42 wound in Hedgerow country. The other was at Bataan. Both made it.

My Great-father fought at Konigsberg, in Poland and also helped encircle Berlin. My great grandmothers brother was not so lucky. He joined the red army in the opening stages of Barborossa and was injured while defending the outskirts of Minsk.
He was sent to a hospital but Stukas came and most likely buried him alive. My greatgrandmother herself lived under occupation and many of her friends were deported to death camps until her town of Borisov was liberated.
