TOURNAMENT IS OPEN: remember that you initiate two challenges and receives two challenges. Whoever is supposed to be challenged by Enakan needs to challenge him instead.

Some tactical considerations:

Marathon:
*the medean archers cannot fight in the open and must be withdrawn towards the camp and the ships (victory points). at least one of the saka infantry units must also withdrawn to bolster the camp’s defence. The crack persian infantry stay to crush the greek centre and get the victory points there.
*the greek players just push forward as fast as possible while entrapping the persian centre.

Delium:
*the Theban right wing is lined up in depth and should steamroll its opposition. But the Athenians have the advantage elsewhere as a result. It’s a classic case of each army rolling up the enemy left wing.

Running is the theme of Marathon, and I expect my Persians to be doing a lot of it (away from the Greeks, they smell awful!).

It seems that the Tamil Tigers were well and truly exterminated in 2009 (along with a lot of civilians). They don't appear to have resurfaced, from what I could gather from the English-language press.

Jaffna is now a peaceful and friendly place, though with little tourist infrastructure, and much war damage still evident.

The main sights are the ruins of the large fort (dating to the Portuguese era) and many colourful and weird Hindu temples. The latter were a welcome relief from the wall-to-wall Buddhism elsewhere in the country!

Enakan, I've put up a challenge for Marathon.

Hey TDefender?

I went ahead and resigned, shoot me a new challenge. Here are the special rules for the scenario for you to check them out.

No worries, we'll start fresh!

Hi, yes I've read your pm!
I just wonder how " at least one of the saka infantry units must also withdrawn to bolster the camp’s defence" works... we have to calculate the vp manually then?

Anyway I'm playing the battle on the other side, maybe I can just learn from Ian's moves.

This is not a rule, it’s a tactical suggestion offered by the scenario designer.

Delium

Athenians (fogman) 51/50 vs Thebans (allendeuce) 49/48

fogman 10.2
allendeuce 10.2

The Athenian centre fed in troops to bolster the outnumbered left, resulting in a vicious fight that contained the huge Theban right most of the game before the final collapse. Elsewhere, the early death of the Athenian commander slowed down the Athenian assault toward the ridge. Scattered units reached the top of the ridge but by then, the Athenians had run out of steam. Both sides were content to leave the battlefield with honour.

Two results to report;
I edged, and I do mean "edged", Londo for a win, 49/50 98%, to his 49/48 100%.
Could NOT have been any closer!
Very hard fought tough game, Londo!

Also, a draw against fogman, me 49/48 100%, he 51/50 100%.
Another (obviously) very close, very fun game.

Delium

Thebans (fogman) 39/48 vs Athenians (TDefender) 60/50

fogman 12.0
TDefender 8.1

Both right wings won after a tough fight , but the Thebans made a decisive use of the reserve cavalry in the centre.

there is a Marathon challenge from Londo (March 18) for either Edmund or Enakan that needs to be picked up. Every other game seems to be on-going, except for ones involving player8.
We will start the next round at the end of next week.

I am playing Londo now,

Edmund has been out of touch for a week now. I am waiting on him to complete two games with me too. Might be a tough week life wise for him, but I"m not psychic, no clue what's holding things up.
