Quarter Final result
LordNytram (Dailami) 29/34 defeats Claytonengel (Arab Conquest) 48/46

Close game down to the wire. Would have lost it the following turn!

Second game:

LordNytram (Arab Conquest) 24/46 defeats Claytonengel (Dailami) 38/35

Tough game with a huge difficult hill from my right flank all the way to the centre and fields and plantations on my left. Leaving only a few gaps for my heavy foot to press.

QF result:

Jonathan4290 (Byzantines) 12/38 defeats Cunningcairn (Lombards) 53/45
Jonathan4290 (Lombards) 15/42 defeats Cunningcaign (Byzantines) 41/41

Dice made these ones seem a lot more lop-sided than they actually were.

QF Result:

batesmotel (Pechenegs) 32/35 beat voskarp (South Slavs) 52/49
batesmotel (South Slavs) 13/44 beat voskarp (Pechenegs) 40/36

Thanks for two good games. The game where I was the Pechenegs could have gone either way. About as close as they've come to defeat so far in this tournament.

Semi-final matches can now begin! I have adjudicated the very few remaining pool matches.

Thanks to everyone who has participated. I sincerely hope the next tournament is in 2.0.

Jonathan,
I think you meant LordNytram vs Batesmotel for the semis ;-).

Yes I did, my apologies, I'll edit that now!

Semi-Final results:
LordNytram (Dailami) 8/33 defeats Batesmotel (Pechenegs) 35/35
Batesmotel (Dailami) 19/35 defeats LordNytram (Pechenegs) 36/35

Horse Archer armies just seem useless in this game system. So a really tough pair of games for whoever took Pechenegs!

SF results

Jonathan4290 (Lombards) 42/48 defeats Londo (Visigoths) 49/49
Jonathan4290 (Visigoths) 34/60 defeats Londo (Lombards) 56/53

Two very difficult games. I was aiming for a draw as Visigoths and a win as Lombards but what I thought would be the easier game ended up being very close, and the tougher game just went my way.

Partial result for final:
LordNytram (Lombard) 28/39 defeats Jonathan4290 (Dailami) 39/36

Remaining game ongoing. I look like I'm going down in that one and potentially badly. Will keep fighting to the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part two result

Jonathan4290 (Lombard) 20/34 defeats LordNytram (Dailami) 37/33

Thanks for the games Jonathan and to all the others too that I played on the way to the final. Some tough but fun games. Jonathan is a worthy winner.

(Just to make sure we did the math right in these very close games)

Jonathan4290 39/36 + 20/34 = 59/70 = 84.3%
LordNytram 28/39 + 37/33 = 65/72 = 90.2%

Thank you again to everyone who participated. I am hoping to launch another tournament the second the new version is out, unless we hear any further delays, in which case I'll most likely run a mini one.

Well done to both of you for reaching the final, and especially to Jonathan for winning overall.

And, of course, thanks to Jonathan for running the tournament for us. It's much appreciated.

Best Wishes

Mike
