Hello guys,

A short update with some good and some bad news.

The bad news is that the v964 beta build is not ready yet, and I can't finish everything still needed (and including some decent amount of testing) for it today.

The good news is that, finally (thank's God!), the file formats (editor battle groups, scenario army lists, DAG army list templates and DAG army lists) modifications are done (including the all FoG(RB) data validation, cooking of the new bundles, updates to the associated file lists and a lot of testing). And the work on updating the MP game flow and MP communications protocol has already started, and needs to be completely finished and tested for the beta build.

The beta build will probably be ready by Tuesday/Wednesday, if nothing critical appears. And as the SP gameflow was updated for both scenario and DAG games a while ago, the probability for something critical appearing in this is really really low.

It's been a while since we actually 'beta'd.'

I don't think I have my original beta serial code (change of computers at least once, if not twice). Can we have those reissued for this new build?

I got an error message. The local client is too old please update the game. What does this mean?

It means that the old open beta client is completely obsolete at this point, and a new one is needed. The next one will be revision 964, which is FoG(U) v2.0.00 (due to an almost complete overhaul of project's whole code-base).

Unfortunately, the release of this new client took much longer than anticipated. Everything needs to be in order for it, as it will be the gold candidate and only major critical bugs will be fixed for it before the game's release. Several release dates were presented by me, but we've failed to meet them as more unexpected things were popping out, and needed laborious solving and testing.

At this moment, the last one was for the last weekend, but yet I am still working (during the last month my work hours mounted up to around 90 work hours/week, which is more than 200%, and no matter how dedicate I am, I physically can't work more than this) on finishing the MP game-flow and client-server communication updates needed for it. It can be any-day, but I won't advance another date until I will already have the beta client packed and uploaded on the server, as these not-meet-new-beta-release-dates already did a lot of harm (first of all to myself, as I am completely embarrassed because of them at this point).

Hello Cothyso,
i"m not your father or Boss but working 90 hours per week seems not to be a good idea . Maybe a Holiday instead is a better solution.
For the Moment we have a good working fog and your healt is more important than this game.

I do have one question though... so I don't get my hopes up.

When this is released it will have no improvements done to the AI, am I correct in this?

The initial FoG(U) release will have, as it was announced right from the beginning, only a basic AI.
