Stab in the dark is a good way of putting it. As you say, it prevents customising for a specific army (this is why mercenaries were added, for those little surprises ).

Sorry Fedem, we've hit the twelve player limit. I'll put you down as first reserve in case we lose anyone, plus give you a 'gold ticket' to any future campaigns

You can have any commander and as many as you want according to the scoring table...is that correct?

Re: To Forge an Empire
Yes you can run with as many or as few as you wish. IC represents yourself on the field so i would guess that if you were to issue 2 challanges only 1 could have the IC.Mercenary armies wouldnt be able to have an IC.You may want to PM Keyth for a clarrification on this one
Just read through the rules and it doesnt indicate the use of ICs so clarification may be needed. I usually run with 400pt 1 FC 1 TC . 500 pt 2 FC or IC and 1 TC. 300 pt i would maybe use 2 troop commanders or 1 FC.
Cheers Turk

Re: To Forge an Empire
I am going to assume that IC's are allowed as there is nothing in the forum that says they are not...not that I will use one, but you never know!!

Re: To Forge an Empire
Hi Keyth
Just to clarify something please.
Using your example on page 3, post 2.
I could use the classical spartan in all games from Spring to Winter and continue to use it for the next year etc. Only changing my mercs army in the Winter?
If that is the case you could use the same army throughout the campaign.
Apologies for this, you can't look back at the rules once you start typing in a comment.
Isn't it better (for more variation) to use a different army each year, until you have played with all armies in that region and then start again.
This is prob explained in the rules but I am afraid I am a bit dumb nowadays.
Cheers
Eric

Re: To Forge an Empire
If that was the case, I would want a different region as they really have only one faction I feel I can manage well...

Re: To Forge an Empire
Darn it
OK spotted that you can use the same army for 3 consecutive seasons and then for winter (prob) you have to use something else.
However you can then use that same army again for another 3 seasons?
Just wondering, after one use of the first army for the first 3 seasons is. You then have to use different armies in the region until, you have gone through them all and or wish to switch to a different region?
