Tech ladder

Hi all have just reasearched Aircraft and ive noticed that the picture in the tech ladder for aircraft is a spitfire and after some tech advances it changes too a hurricane??? shouldnt this realy be the other way around as the hurricane is a first generation monoplane fighter and wasnt realy improved upon as a fighter and was used in other roles as more spitfires became available,i realize it makes no differance to gameplay just thought it was a bit odd.

There have been discussions about this situation earlier. The Italians had fighters, ground attack and heavy bombers which could have been used but aren't. The US & UK use the same graphics for aircraft so you get situations where you have US air units with British markings & vice versa. The same thing happens with armour (when DID the US use Matildas?? :) )
Since the data is modular the solution is, if you're artistically inclined, to replace the existing graphics with ones you prefer.

I'm dissapointed to hear that, i only just bought the game this week, and am only up to 1940. I was expecting at around 41 or 2 for a lot of the graphics to change.

I'm an old fan of the Allied General series which had heavily influenced by history units.

has anyone made some patches which replaces the existing graphics? I would really enjoy that.

In our mod Grand Strategy that will be released in November (hopefully) many unit images have been replaced. E. g. the US images will now be separate from the British images. We've even given minor powers their own images. Motorised units are renamed mech units and will get different symbols at higher tech levels (changes from trucks to armored vehicles).

We've even completely redrawn the map so it looks more accurate (even though it's impossible to make an accurate map of such a big area due to distortions because you try to map a 3D sphere into a 2D map).

We've also changed the game behavior a lot by altering Java files, but more on that later when we wil write a bit more about Grand Strategy.

So if you wait till November you can play Grand Strategy with hurricanes arriving before Spitfire (as one example of what we've done). ;)
