Combat resolution - a hit on a 2?

Hi

I had this combat result in a game I am playing - Santa HNC v HYW English

Both side POA 0 and a die roll of two scores a hit - which I dont uderstand...



Can anyone explai to me what has happened here...

I suspect the defending unit was a bow or a MF with bow support and as such they roll two additional dice which weren't shown in the display. As such the extra hit came from there. If you switch on the verbose dialog box for the bottom left corner of the map then you'll see all the die rolls and calculations involved. I always play with it on.

Okay thanks - that explains it...

I had assumed the as the Longbows were already engaged with a unit to their front they would lose the support fire.
