Hi guys,
a lot has changed since the first release so here is an update of which battles come as standard in the main game and each battle pack. This does not include uniofficial user generated scenarios which can be downloaded in addition to these.
Enjoy!

Thank you very much, Iain. Adding more scenarios to the expansions is indeed a good incentive. That said, a few big civil war battles (such as Milvius Bridge) would have been a nice addition instead of some more of Julius Caesar battles...
Only kidding, I'm French so I have to complain a bit, whatever the topic
Thanks for a great game and for all the hard work!

Many of the scenarios are player contributions that have been included with the expansions so what you see mostly reflects what has been contributed. Feel free to do a Milvius Bridge .tyrkir wrote:Thank you very much, Iain. Adding more scenarios to the expansions is indeed a good incentive. Re: Field of Glory Offical Scenario list
I am tempted to get Immortal fire but don't understand why Platae, Thermopylae, Marathon or other major battles are not included?
Re: Field of Glory Offical Scenario list
Welcome Anguille,
I know you from the Wargamer forums where I often lurk. Marathon is included but very dissappointing. Someone is working on Plataea and should be done soon. Thermopylea probably wouldn't make for a good battle. That said, Immortal Fire is about the best of all the expansions and well worth getting.
Although there are lots of scenarios, most people seem to gravitate to DAG battles where they can create their own armies and battle other DAG armies online.

Re: Field of Glory Offical Scenario list
Having created a couple of historical battles, I've come to realise that some of the most iconic battles are very hard to replicate in a way that makes them playable, challenging and fun. Perhaps the reason that they are iconic is because something abnormal or unexpected happened - very difficult to replicate using war gaming rules!

Based on your recommandation, i will get it. Why is Marathon so much a dissappointement? How is it compared to the Marathon scenario in HPS: Greek Wars (which i own).
Cheers
PS: actually, i think i've been longer on the Slitherine boards than on the wargamer boards
Re: Field of Glory Offical Scenario list
The FoG Marathon scenorio is very small (only 9 Greek BGs) and very imbalanced in favor of the Persians (22 BGs!) With so many scenarios out there included in the game indescriminately, it would be wise at some point for someone to go in and rate or edit them. Magnesia for example is included but pathetically small and rather inaccurate.

P.S. I only visit the FoG boards, so have never seen your alias here before. We have very similar game interests though.

Davouthojo and I have been going through all the official scenarios and writing them up here (check the scenario reviews page) - http://fog-pc-wiki.wikispaces.com/ - sometimes it's more tactical advice rather than a review. But I'll look at giving them my own personal rating (and a rationale).
Some scenarios I've really enjoyed playing as paired matches, some have been very dull. Some don't even seem to have been playtested at all.
PS. There are also some other versions of Marathon, on the Scenario Design section of the forum, including one of my own, which is more akin to a meat grinder, but both sides can still win, except the Greeks are more likely.

Ok...thanks guys!
I just saw that Marathon is in Rise of Rome...?

Re: Field of Glory Offical Scenario list
Right, Marathon makes complete sense as one of Rise of Rome's 6 scenarios, not.

Plataea is all done. Check this thread to download it:deeter wrote:I know you from the Wargamer forums where I often lurk. Marathon is included but very dissappointing. Does "Oath of Fealty" have any historical scenarios?"
