LOL. Angry. :)

And I do not need to read anything as I think I'm the one who brought this subject. :) I feel a little like Cristopher Columbus :).

Another Option:

If someone has the suspicion that is been cheated by the opponent; can we request Slitherine to tell us if that particular player has been doing multiple downloads on that particular game?
We would wait for the answer to see if we continue the game or not.

Give us that option at least.

Tks!!

A good idea but let's say, you ask SLitherine, they give you a name. You may contact that person or even post a message on the relevant link, stating "X has been cheating". What happens if his computer had crashed or it was an act of god or something like that.

I would like SLitherine to announce on a link those players who are downloading or whatever regularly, on a post but I believe they aren't going to do it.

I think it is best to leave it as it is now. If players are cheating they will be caught and are in my view very sad individuals.

I got one of those messages today and have no idea why ? I closed a game and the game was saved and thats about it. I think that we should be able to contact slitherine with someone we suspect of cheating . If enough people agree that something strange happens when playiing the particular person then surely slitherine could monitor the player.

Hi

Turk have you notified Slitherine?

I think there may still be a bug.

As I mentioned before. I have tried everything, closing, cancelling and so on in the last 3 days and did not receive any message.

The last time I received a message, which was quite a severe one. Was when I used task manager on purpose in a game that was agreed to be a draw to see what happened.

Personally I think we should just leave it be. There only seems to be 3 or 4 players (including me) who are using this link.

I believe that Slitherine has got it sorted.

Hi Eric, I would not post his name anywere as apparently Slitherine does not want to go that way but I would ask the player what happened and depending on the answer or even the moment of the game I would have the option to call for example the game a draw, quit it or whatever I want.
As Slitherine think say they know it was a crash or a killing of the process by task manager so you would have that info too.

For the good of the Republic!! ooops sorry. The Game!!

Playing a game against Fedem, and I just got a message from Slitherine that I've downloaded some turns multiple times. The next turn was ok, i.e. no message.

Fedem

There is no harm in doing that if you feel someone is cheating.

I have had my suspicions as well and so wondering who we would email.

We are going to be like undercover hacking cops:)

I just got another email warning. After I closed a half-done turn, then re-opened it later in the afternoon. They need to fix that one too. Seem to have fixed the bug getting you the message after you open a finished game.

Hi, I was playing a game with Turk1964 and my notebook suddenly run out of battery and turned off.
After I plug it as we all know a turn replay was done. I told Turk what happened of course.
The point is that after something like 7 hours I still havent received any email from Slitherine telling me about the multiple download. So, could it be that this tool is not working ok?

Cheers

It is working - it does not instantly notify you - it looks at behaviour over a period of time. You will sometimes get notifications after the event. It all looks fine here and the people we have checked are getting warnings due to bad downloads in their list.

I guess it is my turn to get the message. I have only had 1 crash during a turn, but that was months ago. I have 1 active game at the moment, and just do turns as normal. I have notice it takes forever to get to the login screen on the server. I have pressed the play button after a turn has been sent to my opponent. But that was weeks ago. I think there may some insects in the code.

The server has been getting increasingly busy and we're testing a server upgrade. This will get rolled out in the near future once we've had a chance to try it out and this should make login etc much faster.
