Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
First point on the website: http://slitherine.com/pzc_extras, the announcement is made for 43 (and not for 44) east.

Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
I notice that the campaign is simply called 1944 instead of 1944 east as the previous campaign was. I am not sure if this is by deisgn, but I thought I would bring it up just the same.

Strachwitz Offensive debriefing (choice)
"... Intelligence has discovered that there is an absolutely enormous build of up Soviet troops and aircraft is taking place,..."
Two verbs and word inversion.
"... Intelligence has discovered that (there is) an absolutely enormous build UP OF Soviet troops and aircraft is taking place,..."

Still sounds awkward to me. I'd suggest:produit wrote:Strachwitz Offensive debriefing (choice)

Mogliev scenario: At this very moment, both Vitebsk and Orsha have been put off from our lines... Should be: ... cut off from our lines ...

Babruysk:
... the soviets are pressing (home) their attacks all across the front...
the home here seems weird, but I am not a native speaker.

Budapest briefing...
... as they have foolishly declared war (of) on Germany...

Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
In the Vilna scenario the text states "...partisans are wrecking havoc" I think the intent was to say "partisans are wreaking havoc"
In the Mogilev scenario the text states "...both Vitebsk and Orsha have been put off" I think the intent was to say both Vitebsk and Orsha have been cut off"
In the second paragraph the text states "Your objective is to capture all objectives." Instead of using objective twice in the same sentence may I suggest "Your TASK is to capture all objectives"

Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
Korsun (scenario 1) DV briefing: (1) sp. "maintain" and (2) "extremely untenable" is a tautology - it should just be "untenable".

Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
Since I don't have the time to play the scenarios I can still read the briefings, which is what this report is.
I have only highlighted spelling and grammatical errors and ignored things like too many commas, which I think there are. There are also a lot of capitalised words that don't need to be - notwithstanding that American English and real English differ (as in capitalised with an 's').
BabryuskB_decisive and _marginal: Soviet, not Soviets
Budapest44C_marginal and _decisive: lower case "capital"
_44A: advance forward; - semi-colon should be a comma; contend not content
_44D_loss: "uncertain surprise" - tautology; lower case "capital"
Jassy_KishinevD_loss: "has sealed"
C_marginal: stamped "out"; taking place - remove "is" - sentence
B_decisive: stamped "out"; "bombers" not capitalised; Herr General
A: "allies" not capitalised
Korsun_BreakoutC_marginal: "north" not cap.; "south" not cap.; "allies" not cap.
B_decisive: "allies" not cap.
A: south-west; anti-tank
D_loss: "has sealed"
[wife calls - rest will have to wait...]

Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
Korsun PocketC_marginal and B_decisive: "becoming untenable" or "is untenable"
A: supply airfields; on top of; west; south-east
Minsk44C_marginal and B_decisive: Soviet, not Soviets; north; south
A: possibly "rearguard" (one word) but rear guard could also fit?
D_loss: "has", not "as"
MogilevA: command posts
D_loss: "has", not "as"
NarvaC_marginal: maintains; crossings
B_decisive: "could require" or "requires"
A: garrison; (double space) Soviet lines; southern; armored
D_loss: "has", not "as"
Poltava_A: anti-aircraft; "as a warning"; strongly advised, rather than highly advised
Question: does it make sense that the player can get his ground forces so far behind Russian lines that his air force can't support him? Just suspend disbelief?
Question: is there any evidence of US activity in Soviet areas or is this a hypothetical situation?
Strachwitz_OffensiveC_marginal and B_decisive: "taking place" - remove "is"
A: crossings, wrought or wreaked, not wrecked; partisans x3
Warsaw UprisingC_marginal and B_decisive: nought
A: supply airfields; on top of; west; south-east

Re: DLC 1944 Text Issues
Budapest 44 briefing says "content with enemy aircraft" instead of contend.
