Tsaritsyn Placement on map

Post by majpalmer »

Tsaritsyn, later renamed Stalingrad, later renamed Volgograd, was, as we all know, on the Volga River. On the CGW map it is four hexes east of the Volga River. Not that I ever expect to get that far, but nevertheless....

Well, and in previous games always is in the east side of the river instead of the west. Why? I think that is for be more real with the strategic aspect instead with the geographic as far as is a game with a limited map and divided in hex cells. If you look other cities is sure that they are a bit changed with their real location, but if you fight in these zones you will get a more accurated experience of how they fought and defended that regions. :)

I can understand placing it on the eastern side of the Volga. But four hexes to the east?
