Are you having problems with your website?

Downloading Turns, or even accessing it is painfully slow.

Me too. Some turns have taken more than 5 minutes to up/download - if I come out and try again I get the re-download message! Seems to happen more in the evening...

There is no known issue so who is this happening for - what is your physical location and when exactly does the problem occur and we can try and dig in to it.

I'm in Sweden, and Sunday evening there was sometimes extremely long waiting periods. At one time I force quitted FoG when it had been trying to download a game for over one hour!

It has happened some time before, a month or so ago. That time I think it was a code -1 error or something like that. But since there's a new version coming I don't bother much with problems in this version.

By the way... thanks for a sweet game! :)

I've been having problems ever since the weekend, both downloading instance and then uploading after I've played my turn.

It seems to work, eventually, but there is definitely something wrong somewhere.

I'm in the UK.

Same problem in France. It takes for ever to download and upload an MP game. It started about a week ago

Has been very, very slow for the past few days and at times impossible. Sometimes, fails to up/download - no error message, just the Please Wait.... window. I am in the UK

Hi,

I am in US. In the last few days, game downloads and uploads have been been noticiably slower.

We had a number of people reporting issues so upgraded the server last week. Has this helped - are you able to play ok now?

The problems, at least for me, have been so infrequent that you can't really tell yet. For example, I usually get problems once or twice a week. Normally it works great, but at times it doesn't work at all. For now it has worked fine, but that may change in the future.

The issues are all related to server load. We're working on ways to split the system in to chunks to spread the load but it was never part of the original design so takes a lot of time to do and requires the game clients to be changed too but this will be in place when we move to FoG Unity.

Iain

I seriously wish you well on that. Having to make a non-clustered server/apps support clustering/load-balancing is no small task and requires a degree of care. We would all rather you took your time and got it right (I know how painful it is when you don't).

Regards
Tim

Thanks - this is not what we started out doing so is a bit of a learning curve. It's also made more complex by having to deal with existing games so we're working hard on it but there are no simple quick fixes unfortunately :(
