I'll pick up your challenges tomorrow. I've got company coming in and need to slow down on game play. Or find a new wife.

It'll probably be easier to slow down on the gaming.

flatsix518
No probs. I could offer you my wife in exchange, but she has the same anti-FOG attitude

Div A

hidde (WoTR, Yorkist Pretender) 46/46
ianiow (English Continental, Late) 51/47

A big lead for the pretender a bit into the battle. To get it my left flank had to be quite weak(pikes, nothing but a liability  ).
Very quick it was even and the coninental army seemed to have the momentum. The dismounted knights had some figting spirit however and in the end it was actually not far from a Yorkist victory!
All in all, a draw was a fair outcome.

Div A

ianiow (English) 28/47
tiavals (Scots) 53/52

The English got lucky with the map. In the center was a commanding craggy knoll on which the IC and his bodyguard were posted. Infront of the knoll a ridge was defended by foot knights and archers. To the right a river was defended by more archers and foot knights. To the left was a large forest which was defended by longbowmen. A perfect defensive position to soak up waves of Scottish spearmen, axemen, knights and highlanders. If only all battles were so fortuitous..

Good on Tiavals for fighting like a man and not just sitting back and waiting for a draw.

Division B Result

Turk1964(Later Hungarian(Early) ) 33/39 vs Flatsix518(Mamluks) 35/34

An Epic battle where both Generals used every thing they had to outwhit the other. The Malmuk commander took early control of a large Oasis in the middle of the map and dismounted a portion of his mighty cavalry to prevent the Hungarians from watering their steeds. I must confess i had no idea how to win this as there was no way i was sending my troops into the marshes and trees. This was a real war of attrition where each commander tried to lure the other in to favourable conditions. The game went 21 turns and even at the end i wasnt sure i could win this. Well played John it was one of the most challanging games ive played for a long time :D

Cheers Turk

Div C Result

Kmaher (Anglo Irish - Early) 40/50 vs Okie (Khwarazmians) 27/25

Okie's small army doesn't really allow for a turn of bad rolls. Thanks for the game.

Almost 22 years. But I've hung on to her for almost 40. So I guess the results were worth it.

div a result

eric (Late Hungarians early) 38/46 vs Lysimachos (Catalan Company) 50/46

Apart from the games I have lost this was the toughest.

Would the catalans have done better with off spear?

Div C result:

Jonathan4290 (Timurids) 32/32 fought MatsuHiroshi (Santa Hermanad Neuva Castillan) 42/42 to a draw.

Timurids broke through on the left and destroyed the opposition but a disastrous fighting retreat on the Timurid right lost them valuable BPs. The game was finally decided on the final turn on rolls which could have gone either way but instead went neither. Most stressful game yet MatsuHiroshi.

Div C Result

kmaher (Anglo Irish-Early) 29/50 vs lydianed (Mamluks) 37/34

Although the Mamluks got off to a decent start they struggled mid game with some bad luck and the Irish coming from all directions. Sheer numbers eventually won the day.

Thanks for the game.

OK -- on a serious note.

My dance card is getting empty. Is there anyone out there in Div B who wants a go against my Mamluks?

Div C result:

Jonathan4290 (Timurids) 13/33 defeats Lydianed (Mamluks) 35/34

Mamluks held the high ground but were outmatched in firepower and maneuverability, allowing the Timurids to create a few breaches and create a messy battlefield melee which the Timurids won outright. Terrain was pretty rough so Mamluk superiority in lancers had little . . . impact (get it?).
