Simply: I forbid travel on tiles adjacent another ship:

It is not perfect. The discovery of new enemy units or enemy fire can block the movement and cause collisions.
But it's works for 99% of cases.
Cunning! That's a clever way to do it... Perfect for our large warships...

Better disable that feature for landing craft tho... Otherwise, it will be hard to conduct beach landings if we can't move 'em next to each other...

NICE!! 8)

Would the 'rising sun' work if it was only red? Without the white outer circle?
Or is there too much blurring at this resolution...?

Could also put a large square grey deck elevator under the 3 aircraft...
And finally, could also make the tips at the front and back grey too...
but I realise that's asking for the moon...

Great job, A!

Forget the elevator. At least for the moment.
I still have trouble with textures.

So the new models are integrated on BA. :P

The USMC LVT:

May be too large? Compared to other ships.

The Fishing Boat Japan:

LVT only looks big compared to warships... Once it's on land it will be perfect... Remember it's an amphib... Great conversion! :D

Bonjour Amaris,

Quick feedback on last wave of units...

LVT looks good... Now I've seen it on map, you're right, it may be slightly large... Place one next to a DUKW (which is perfectly scaled vs land units) and you'll see what I mean...
DUKW dimensions... L 9m x W 2.5m x H 2m
LVT dimensions... L 8m x W 3m x H 2.5m
So the LVT should be slightly shorter, and slightly wider than Slith's current DUKW model. The height will fix itself, once we do that.

One small problem with the LVT animation. It doesn't sway in the water like the other boats. It bounces... extremely... kinda like a Mexican jumping bean (either those guys really want to land, or the Navy just fed 'em a whole heap of beans!)... Any ideas?

Fishing boat... Awesome... Will be great for ferrying scouts (spies and spotters) and commandos around the islands...

New Jap flat top... The wooden flight deck is perfect, while I note you've re-scaled to make it smaller than American carriers... Good job!!
We can call 'em Hiryu or Soryu class CVs, which were less wide than the Yorktowns...
USN Yorktown CV dimensions... L 230m x W 33m (flight deck)
IJN Hiryu class L 227m x W22m; IJN Akagi L 260m x W 31m

This is looking wow!!

Alrights I'll reduce this size as recommended.
About the Mexican anim  I don't know: I simply open the model with my trial 3dsmax and export it with the Slitherine's exporter. So...
I'll check that when I'll resize it.

Man if we are going to do a Grand Campaign I'd love to see Japanese Super Battleships and Carriers (historically the 1 and only Super Carrier was sunk by a US Sub a few days after it was launched) and a Carrier Subs used in the little know Raid on the Panama Canal. But that's just my regular rambling.....

Of course.
But I need to reduce this size I guess:

And I'm not attract by the diving version...
And for now the sub is exactly as the other ships...
I need to work on them if we want some furtive feature on them.
And I can't do 3D model and scripts in same time.

Hey Amaris, Actually the underwater shadowing from the submerged Gato sub is really kind of cool, no?

Oh yeah but it is simply the normal shadow of a unit. As it was not expected to have a unit on the playing surface, we are lucky that the render is good.

And another model done (scaled and animated): the minelayer:

Next will be destroyer. I'll send you the files.

Merci Amaris! USN battleship and minesweeper look perfectly scaled to each other now...
Man I wish the Mac/iPad could render the sea the way that the PC does...
WOW, your screenshot looks awesome!!
(And don't even start me on missing the low ground view from the PC, lol)

Please don't hate me, but the destroyer is slightly too big now...
Place a destroyer between a cruiser and a minesweeper...
The mast height should be shorter than the cruiser, but taller than the minesweeper...
From this screenshot, the destroyer's mast appears taller even than the mast on the battleship... Sorry to be a pest!!

PS. although this may be a visual artefact, if the bouncing in water animation is causing the bow of the battleship to dip very deeply at the front, during the instant you took the shot?

Here's another way to help with relative sizing...

Rare photo of three types right next to each other includes...
- an Iowa class BB-64
- a Baltimore class heavy cruiser CA-73,
- a Sumner class DD-761

The view from the front illustrates what I mean about using mast heights to estimate relative sizing

The photo is from Korea '52, but these classes were all contemporary to WW2 Pacific war...

Bon courage mon ami! :D
