[Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
This mod allows you to play the "Order of Battle Pacific" game with boardgame's style counters instead of the 3D units.
As fan of the traditional wargames (with paper maps and cardboard counters), I decided to modify this excellent game whom is Order of Battle to be able to find the sensations of a good old game around a table.
----- EDIT : MOD IS READY ------------------------------------------------
You can download it here : here
To use it, unzip the archive file in the folder "Documents\My Games\Order of Battle-Pacific\Mods" of your computer.
Enjoy it
This mod is now available "as it is"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is based on the work i made on the Battle of Britain borgame's mod you can find here : http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 74&t=70800
In the meantime, I suggest you following the evolution of its creation...

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
I move forward well.
I finished all the infantry counters, all the vehicles, all the artilleries and almost all the ships ...
More than 270 different counters at the moment.
let's have a look

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
They look great.
But I would like the counters to always have the same facing for ease of reading.
Can this be selected in the Classic Units Facing option 'Always'?

I really need to try this out when it's finished.
Do the board counters work in the editor as well?
The editor map is already in board game map mode, so the counters would blend in nicely methinks.
And you may have won berto over

Thanks at everybody
It's almost finished (some last counters to do and to debug some visual effects...)
Yes these counters are available in the editor, so you can use them to create scenarios

Oh, I had bought the game. This boardgame counter mod (or perhaps the official developer version, if and when) will have a major, decisive impact on my willingness to play it.Erik wrote:

Happy for you.
This is a good game with a lot of extension possibilities.
You don't have to wait too long, the counter's mod should be ready for download next week

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
Good news, it is finished and complete
I have redone all the 538 counters (even the surprising german Zundapp motorcycle ) and corrected some bugs.
I post the download link to the 1.0 version on the first post of this thread.
Just enjoy it.
If you are interrested, here are the 561 .JPG files used to create this Mod :
here
Feel free to use them for what you want (like creating new OOB or integrate them in a mod, etc...).

Why is this not working for me? The counters are always have different facing. But very thanks for this mod.Erik wrote:They look great.

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
As far as i see, it seems to be in the initial placement of units in the scenario...
But, when you move your units they are facing in the direction of the last segment of the white arrow.
If you select the required option, they are always facing in the same direction as in the initial placement.

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
In tutorial scenario 2, an enemy air unit, or possibly paratroops, have landed on my base island (the one with "Westport"). The counter graphic is showing as a magenta square -- i.e., what appears to be an empty graphic cell with just the magenta mask color displaying.
I would like to show this in a screenshot, but I cannot capture the screen to the Windows Clipboard while playing the game in full-screen mode, apparently.
Would you please review possibly the counter mod graphics for enemy (unknown enemy?) unit displays? Something seems to be broken here.

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
Definitely, something is broken here, or the mod lacks a needed graphic. I engaged that "magenta square" enemy unit in combat, it lost, whirled around, retreated, all the while displaying a floating magenta square.

Re: [Boardgame's counter MOD] Order of Battle Pacific
Another: When I destroy an enemy unit, the enemy counter is a blank white.
Again, sorry I can't capture and display a screenshot. (I don't want to interrupt my current game to switch to windowed mode.)
