Panzer Corps Tournament - The Quarter Finals!
Hi guys.
The players below have qualified to the QUARTER FINALS! The pressure is rising as only 8 contenders are left.
The battlefield this time will be THE FROZEN NORTH - Germans and Soviets fighting over a snowy battlefield!
The settings when issuing a challenge are exactly like round 1 and 2 and must be as follow:
Weather ON – Supply ON – Fog of War ON – Undo OFF; HANDICAP must be EVEN
The pairings are as follow; it’ll be up to the first (to the left) of each couple to issue the challenge, and to the player to the right to accept it:
EsgibtkeinBier vs striped_soul
Hansstory vs Misterno
caca vs MarkTK37thIL
goose_2 vs Braccada
How to issue a challenge? Use your username as game name, pick the Frozen North map with the aforementioned settings and put “Slitherine” as password.
For instance, EsgibtkeinBier should issue a challenge named “EsgibtkeinBier” and with “Slitherine” as password, and his opponent striped_soul will have to accept that challenge.
It’s up to the one issuing a challenge to pick the in game side: the map should be balanced enough to make the difference negligible.
Please try to complete your games before next Monday 14th November! Send me a report of how the game ended (better if coupled with screenshots). I hope there will be no contestations, but if there’s any we’ll discuss it. In case the match wasn’t completed in time, we’ll pick a winner depending on who was most active. If no player was clearly more active than the other, we’ll judge basing on strategic performances. Once again, send screenshots of your games
Please issue your challenge and accept it as fast as possible.
This round will last longer as I will be away for 5 days in Nottingham with extremely limited access to my webmail, and I won't be able to follow should some issues arise. If there was any problem, bug or contested situation, please wait for my return (will be back at the office on tuesday 8th November).

Super excited about the collaboration that Braccada and I are going to do for this one.
I will email him my day to day battle plan like I lay out here:
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 45&t=65111
and here:
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 45&t=68874
Just fyi Braccada and I have faced off a few times and I even captured some basic tactics for multiplayer here for anyone interested:
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 21&t=70147
Braccada's youtube site is a great resource for many games especially Panzer Corps.
https://www.youtube.com/user/braccada
I cannot wait to see what he comes up with on our battle, and how he breaks down his thinking in his strategy and I share my thinking on mine. (After it is over of course)
This should be epic, and may the best man win...or at least me.

Re: Panzer Corps Tournament - The Quarter Finals!
I have been bested!
The Soviets managed to capture the fourth town last turn (27) after a proud Regular stood his ground in front of the city and denied reinforcements despite being attacked by two Grenadiers, one Infantry and one Volkstrum (times like this I prefer chess mode )! Regardless, it was one of the most intense games I've ever played!
Good luck to every contester and a big thank you to everyone involved in the making of the tournament!

EsgibtkeinBier, over and out!

Well..It was hard and intense combat, and it wasn't clear till the last turn, which army will achieve victory.
Thanks to my opponent EsgibtkeinBier, for his patience,(we actually played whole Saturday) and very good game.
EsgibtkeinBier(Axis) vs striped_soul (Soviet) Soviet victory,on 27th turn

Re: Panzer Corps Tournament - The Quarter Finals!
I have a quick question. The briefing says Axis has to capture 8 objectives for victory. I only see 7 objectives and Soviets have to take only 4. Is this a mistake in the briefing?

Yeah it has to be, because what you are describing is a Decisive Victory.braccada wrote:I have a quick question. The briefing says Axis has to capture 8 objectives for victory. I only see 7 objectives and Soviets have to take only 4. Is this a mistake in the briefing?
Meaning In order for the Axis to get a Decisive Victory they need to seize all objectives, but whoever ends up with 4 of the 7 Main Objectives is the winner.

Definitely says 8 objectives for Axis victory and all (that would be 7) for decicive victory.

Braccada and I are early on in our battle so we very much appreciate the extra time as we will have time to bust things out this weekend.
