Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
In Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine you'll brave heavy enemy fire while at the lead of powerful battleships and cruisers - true beasts of steel! You will command silent predators, marvels of German engineering, the U-Boots, in their lethal hunt for Allied convoys. You will build and employ massive new Carriers, platforms from where to launch your newest aircraft, and gain a devastating edge over your enemies.
Kriegsmarine is all of this, and more. Your efforts will decide the fate of the war. Are you up to the task?
The new DLC for the Order of Battle series releases today on our store and on Steam. It features the exploits of the Kriegsmarine, the German Navy, in its effort to fight Allied supremacy at sea. It adds many new units, and it presents players with the intriguing possibility of exploring “what-if” scenarios: what if Germany had developed, built and deployed aircraft carriers? What if Germany had fully executed Plan Z and built the next-generation battleships? You have the choice.
That’s not all! Kriegsmarine is accompanied by several new features which have an effect on naval gameplay in general: new mechanics such as fire efficiency and hit avoidance, new submarine rules, primary and secondary guns for ships, new unit types, a first look at the Skirmish mode, and more! It is truly a massive update.
And if you’re still unconvinced, we’ll stream the game tomorrow on our Twitch channel!
So what are you waiting for? Get Kriegsmarine now, and give us your feedback on the forum!

Re: Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
The purchase download is quite small. But you need to install a full 3.3 version before applying the KM patch.
Could you please provide a link to the main download somewhere on these pages (even if it is available in the members area somewhere)?
Thanks

After installing KM, I lost the "save game" button in the Options Menu. Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks for the bonus coupon.

if you are still having the same issue, after reapplying the patch and KM game, post in tech support and we can see if it's something someone can help you will, maybe something simple like a missing or bad patch etckondi754 wrote:After installing KM, I lost the "save game" button in the Options Menu. Re: Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
I just bought it and registered Kriegsmarine on my Slitherine Account. Have trouble with my generated Steam Key, it doesn't get accepted. Hope it sorts itself out over night, otherwise I will have to contact support tomorrow.
Edit: Just a few minutes later everything started working and is correctly registered. I am faster than the Steam engines of Valve and the Kriegsmarine.

I played on middle difficulty and won the third time around when I took the northern route. Go all the way around the island.

Re: Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
What the heck?
Why does this end in 1944? I've played and both won and lost the Invasion Looms mission. The game ends there either way. Why even bother having the Plan Z specialization when you'll never get the chance to use it or the upgrade that allows the new classes of battleships and battle cruisers? Or if you never spend any points on anything else, you MIGHT get ONE mission with them.
Huge disappointment.

Re: Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
What "Invasion Looms" mission? You mean "Atlantic Diversion"?
These are the scenarios in Kriegsmarine:
Danzig Bay
Narvik
Wolf Pack
Surface Raiders
Western Approaches
Operation Torch
Arctic Convoy
Scapa Flow
Atlantic Diversion
Yes, Kriegsmarine runs only from September 1939 through May 1944. The developers did not intend to finish out the war or even go through D-Day with this campaign. Yes, there are only 9 scenarios. Kriegmarine costs $9.99; that's exactly $1.11 per scenario. You can barely afford a pack of gum for that much:
But when I played Kriegsmarine, I had hours of enjoyment. I would not trade that for nine packs of gum.
Another thing. Here I am, about to acquire Plan Z just before the fifth scenario, Western Approaches:
How did I do this? By planning for it and forgoing the use of Specialisation Points until I could afford Plan Z after winning four scenarios. Then, after Western Approaches and Operation Torch, I can get the Flug-thingy for aircraft carriers in time for Arctic Convoy. Or, I could wait for Scapa Flow (1944) and be eligible for the Schlach-thingy for upgraded battleships.
The point is, you are supposed to PLAN and SACRIFICE some specialisations for others. You are not necessarily supposed to get every specialisation offered in OOB campaigns handed to you. And it's by design that you will not get a chance for upgraded battleships until the final two scenarios. Else you might acquire them early, blast everybody out of the sea, and then be complaining about Kriegsmarine being too easy and therefore boring.
I said this elsewhere recently: I made the mistake of reading stuff like this before I played Kriegsmarine and I almost decided to skip it. Instead, I parted with my measly $10 and had a lot of fun. I actually played Blitzkrieg after Kriegsmarine but this time I did not read any of the "Slogkrieg" stuff beforehand. Same result but with much less indecision and angst. Formed my own opinion.
Honestly, I do NOT want to sound like a fanboy but I do believe in making fair assessments in matters such as this. My assessment is that I don't know what some people are expecting from OOB - sometimes I don't even know what they are talking about - but for me at least, it delivers. This includes Kriegsmarine.

Re: Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
What I expect is a more realistic description.
Plan Z is listed as a feature
"What-if situations: execute plan Z, build powerful next-generation battleships and carriers and challenge the Allied naval supremacy"
At least say, "in the final scenario", instead of making it seem like there's more to it than there actually is.
I got "Invasion Looms" from the campaign event window.
So while you are lecturing me, maybe you should know that I own all of the DLC except for Rising Sun, and have not complained about campaign or scenario length on any of the others. In fact I've talked several people into purchasing the game. So, I do not appreciate being talked down to like a little kid.
I did enjoy the game, I would have liked a more accurate description that didn't lead me to expect more than I got.

Re: Order of Battle: Kriegsmarine is out!
Than all of Burma and Kriegsmarine would be better to have DLC on the subject of the Russian-Japanese war of 1904-1905 !

And the continuation of the Soviet-Japanese war 1945 !
P.s.
