Re: Field of Glory II is announced!
Hello vicco
Field of Glory II covers the period 280 BC to 25 BC ('the rise of Rome') and allows you to command the armies of any of 48 nations and factions covering the whole of the ancient world from Britain to India during that period
I'm afraid we do not have plans for a Mac OS version
regards
Ben Wilkins

I just applied to be a beta tester.
I played RBS' original ancients and renaissance campaigns on an apple II a zillion years ago.

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

I applied to be a beta tester too... (Might not get in as this looks to be a popular dance on the card.)

Re: Field of Glory II is announced!
I own FOG I plus multiple DLCs, P&S, & SJD. All are outstanding. I have one request...FOG II will have "hotseat" mode for 2 humans like FOG I does. Sadly this feature is missing in P&S & SJD. Regardless, I am anxious to see this release.
Re: Field of Glory II is announced!
Wonderful news! I am moist with excitement!

What are the plans for expansions? Will they be of the same time periods as the FoG expansions? (Sheesh!! The game isn't out yet & here I am already asking about expansions!! Shows you I'm really excited about this development.)
Shame that there won't be a Mac version. Oh well, time to make sure my VM software is up-to-date. What are the minimum/recommended Win OS & hardware spec requirements?

Long term plans are not finalised, but it seems likely.vicco wrote:What are the plans for expansions? Will they be of the same time periods as the FoG expansions?

By the way, the engine allows for mods. Users can introduce new armies even if the official expansions don't cover them or take time to materialise.rbodleyscott wrote:Long term plans are not finalised, but it seems likely.vicco wrote:What are the plans for expansions? This is too bad, especially with Mac getting more and more common every day.Benedict151 wrote: ...

BTW, what are the recommended machine specs for the game as well as which version of Windows?
Looking forward to this game!

Re: Field of Glory II is announced!
This is great news. I was a FOG table top player for a number of years. I always thought that FOGR streamlined the table top version and so now with the PC versions - the excellent Pike & Shot and now FOG II. Hmm that leaves one other tabletop FOG version to port over to this PC engine......FOGN say it may be on the horizon......

In general PMs are not the ideal way to pass feedback. It can be hard to get it in front of the appropriate team member, and it also prevents other users from adding their "Me too!" or "I do this!" responses.
It also doesn't help that the PM system is somewhat feature-light
Cheers

Perhaps you would like to give us a list of the things that you would like to be able to do in the editor but cannot do without scripting. Then (no promises) we may be able to make at least some of them possible.stockwellpete wrote:Patrick,Patrick Ward wrote:

Re: Field of Glory II is announced!
The PM I sent was just a couple of old links from the P+S forum that discussed some of the difficulties some scenario writers found with the editor. There was nothing original in the PM from me about the FOG2 editor. I actually wrote the PM 3 or 4 days ago before the beta started but it was still sitting in my Outbox.pipfromslitherine wrote:In general PMs are not the ideal way to pass feedback.
