Frozen AI Turn

Post by akivett »

The AI is endlessly thinking after this turn. I've let it run for about 20 minutes.

I just uploaded both files on my crappy PC at work (I hate the thing) so I don't think it's the files. Your computer may have run out of resources or something. Try rebooting and calling up either of those files again and see if that works.

Dont get fired for this. We need you here. Otherwise, I might actually have to do some serious moderatin' or testin' instead of being a big-mouth knowitall.

OK, finally! I started both of your saves, bypassed my turn, let the Japanese move, and got to turn 3 both times. I even moved a British unit in both turns 3 to make sure:

Here are the saved games, including the last one that I did manually:

Now, believe me, if those files ran on this PC of mine here, it's not your saved game files. It could be your PC or your game installation. So, look to those for the problem. Reboot, turn off other programs, defragment your hard drive, reinstall the game if necessary.

Friend, you're doing just fine helping out here. The more popular this game gets, the more it's going to be monkey rodeo in these forums! But, it's a good thing.

@akivett: What version are you on? Does it read v4.1.7 in the bottom of the main menu?

Yes, it is 4.1.7. I gave up on it and restarted the level.

If it happens again, please send us the output_log.txt file. That will tell us more about what is going on.
