And the enemy… responds. Yet by mighty Jupiter, miracles do happen! My C-in-C unit, fragmented, holds off four attacks and even rallies! And a routing Hastati/Principes rallies as well, so I now only have 36% routed while the Apulians have lost 40%. But it is still very critical.

Re: Battle AAR: Roman 219 - 200 BC versus Apulian 420 - 203
My turn. I attack his very left flank and his unit falls back. And then I once again attack his mounted C-in-C and he breaks! Fighting continues, but now I have a lead with only 36% routed, while his level is now 45%. But now critically I have three foot units not in contact with the enemy. And my C-in-C is surrounded.

The Apulians make their move. My C-in-C unit finally breaks and runs, but my cavalry dispatch another of his ground units. And in another of Jupiter's favors, another of my routing Hastati/Principes rallies! It is now 36% to 49%, I am winning. The enemy line is in disarray. It is time to end this thing.

I send my right wing forward once again. One attack disrupts an enemy and a follow up attack causes him to break. Another melee attack fragments an enemy. I have a Triarii on the left of my short line. If he attacks this fragmented enemy and fails to break him, he will be exposing his flank and rear to attack. I decide to take the chance. The enemy breaks and in his rout, two other enemy are disrupted. And I note the score. I still stand at 36%... the enemy at 63%!
Re: Battle AAR: Roman 219 - 200 BC versus Apulian 420 - 203
The enemy makes one last mad rush to try to destroy me, but it backfires. Two more of his units rout as they attack. And my cavalry holds. I am victorious, 36% to 72%.

That's some quality AAR here!
I hope the Apulians will get some rough terrain in the next battles to even the playing field

Glad you liked it! I had played about twenty hours of FoGII but I felt like I wasn't picking up the lessons I was learning. By happenstance I just got Microsoft Office 365 for my wife's organization and I was able to keep one of the subscriptions. One of the applications is OneNote and after some trial and error I figured out how to alt-tab out of the game, record my thoughts for each half turn and paste a screenshot or two in it. This helps me review not only what I've done, but also what I see the AI doing and how the different weapon systems interact.
When I decided to create the AAR, I just went to the document, copied and pasted the text to the forum and uploaded the associated screenshots. If I get enough feedback I might post the other battles in the campaign I've played.
